Has anybody added one in their car. I know it's not really a motorway car but trying to stretch your legs while keeping the speed up is annoying. Hopefully this isn't as crazy an idea as the aircon in a seven thread.

I love cruise. Wouldn't have a car without it. But not in the 7. If you're right leg gets a bit stiff use your left for a bit.

If you have a 7 with an electronic throttle (such as the EU models) it would be doable with the right electronics. If it's cable driven like most though, it's not going to be worth it.

Really though, if you need cruise control in a 7, you're doing it wrong.

What's funny about wanting cruise control if you're doing 150 miles on a motorway?

And to the other poster, not exactly "doing it wrong" unless he ONLY uses it on the motorway is it...

Now I'm bugging my mind if there are any weirder questions to ask.

Is it possible to get a sunroof in the full weather hood???

I did 3500km last holiday with 500miles german highway on the way back home, never felt the need for cruise control, by the time your leg gets cramped you need to refuel anyway.

I am quite tall so there is not much jiggle space in the footwell.

Well if you get uncomfortable after less than 90 minutes behind the wheel then perhaps it isn't the ideal car for you.

ok so you instal cruise control, then where will rest you're right foot? On the gas pedal? Seems pointless to me sorry.
Drove mine to Spain no windows roof or doors, wouldn't do it again lol but foot and leg ache, was the last of my problems
You could try a broomstick, while resting your foot.

Although sold my Caterham a few years ago , still have a quick look on here now and again to see what's doing. And can't help but chuckle at some of the posts now. Mention of A.C you say ? And now Cruise control ? Seriously.
Just doesn't sound right does it, in a stripped out back to basics point and shoot car. Half the thrill is the noise, the heat , your body feeling that you have felt every bump , pebble and other ripple in the road. Creature comforts , pah , that's why you drive a 7 to get away from all of that.

How about mood lighting in the footwells, electric seats and hood, central locking or Bose surround sound? You never know they could really push the boat our and fit self cancelling indicators.

The whole point , the only point , the fundamental attraction of a Seven is its feather weight and its analogue character . It doesn't have PAS, ESC , TCS , LC, ABS or HDC and it shouldn't have CC either. Its only acronym is FFS - with WTF in the wet.

If you fit cruise to a 7, you may as well fit AC, heated seats and bluetooth.
