Cruise Control

What's funny about wanting cruise control if you're doing 150 miles on a motorway?
And to the other poster, not exactly "doing it wrong" unless he ONLY uses it on the motorway is it...
Motorway trips are a necessary evil. If you've driven a 7 on a motorway you'll know you need to drive quite defensively as people simply don't think to look out for a car so low and small. You also get stuck in grooves left by lorries and need to be able to react faster than a normal car. Cruise control puts drivers at a level of disconnection that really doesn't work with a 7.And to the other poster, not exactly "doing it wrong" unless he ONLY uses it on the motorway is it...
Also, where would you put your foot? The only option would be to rest it under the throttle. I've driven nearly the whole length of the M4 and back in a day in the 7, as well as up to Scotland along the M5/M6. I'm well aware of the shortcomings on the motorway.

Now I'm bugging my mind if there are any weirder questions to ask.
Is it possible to get a sunroof in the full weather hood???
I did 3500km last holiday with 500miles german highway on the way back home, never felt the need for cruise control, by the time your leg gets cramped you need to refuel anyway.
Yes to a sunroof! Well, I used to have a full hood with a clear window panel. Made a big difference to a dark interior. I was using mine daily though... little things. Is it possible to get a sunroof in the full weather hood???

Now that's a good idea! I surpose the only issue would be it'll eventually get creased and scratched, but at least it would still let plenty of light in.[quote=bcr5784]How about mood lighting in the footwells, electric seats and hood, central locking or Bose surround sound? You never know they could really push the boat our and fit self cancelling indicators.
Self cancelling indicators on a caterham, now that really is a ridiculous idea.

I added some basic interior/footwell lights to mine ... one of the best value for money mods I've done and I really ought to extend the circuit to include the boot area as well. Save's messing about with the torch on my phone. I've also considered having the Tillett seat pads modded with heated panels but for now I'm using my heated bike gear, I don't have a heater.
But unlike some my 7 gets used in the rain, the dark, and most of the year if there's no salt down.

But that's a pretty realistic mod in a Caterham, whereas Cruise control is just not understanding the spirit of the seven. But unlike some my 7 gets used in the rain, the dark, and most of the year if there's no salt down.

And agree on the interior lighting point, trying to get 4 point harnesss on in the dark is tricky at best.
Personally I have a small Leyzene led bike front light which has a rubber stretch mounting that wraps around the arm of the rear view mirror.
It allows me to illuminate the harnesss to get them on and off in the dark, and also with a twist illuminate the passenger seat to look for wallet and keys etc!
Perhaps one for Caterham to add to the options list alongside central locking?
Personally, I'm thinking of one of these, just not sure where to put the Lab!

That thread wasn't crazy, it was a perfectly reasonable discussion about a possible way to broaden a Seven's appeal to some (whilst admittedly, being sacrilege to others!).
I have cut two air vents in the front foot wells, which I can open and close, it's great for cooling your feet down, and preventing your trainers from melting. One of my front air scoops provides the air flow to them.Air scoop on left provides the airflow
