Given the `event' which occured when the koeniggsegg first appeared on top gear, I find it hard to believe that the manufacturers would not make every effort to ensure that the car was the best it could be for the second go. The embarrassment of a second `off' in public I suspect could not be risked. Caterham have even been criticised for NOT preparing their cars when entered into this type of event. In any case this was not a Caterham event, but one instigated by the tyre manufacture using their driver. Just because this driver is likely to know the limits of the tyre, does not necessarily mean he was the best Caterham driver who could be put into the car (But he he must be very very good in any case). Some people here seem to have assumed the tyre was a track only special and not one capable of being used on the road, which is not the case. And as someone else here has posted, if you order your Seven with these tyres, that is what you will get, in the same way as you will get the `TG' wing if you order your koeniggsegg with this option. Incidently Caterhams can get over speed humps, which would ground a radical. As demonstated by the Top Gear Team when taking a trio of `road' supercars down south, some have trouble getting out of car parks in Paris. Koeniggsegg had two separate attempts to post the time they did including the opportunity to make `modifications' to keep it on the track for the second attempt. This makes the Caterhams performance even more meaningfull, therefore the record HAS been broken.

Hear hear, well said that man spin

I would like to correct you in the fact that YES he is the best caterham driver who could have been put into the car

Sorry but you aint making alot of sense - who is a possible champion the stig or the tyre chap? I would have thought the stig would do better around the TG track as he knows it well and has completed god knows how many laps in many different cars etc etc.

Nathan Bell and Rob Jenkinson are the 2006 Cosworth Caterham Masters Champions, and it wasn't Nathan Bell.
