Following on from the "R500s are made from cheese" statement that is often made, I came up with a few more:-

VX engined cars can't be made to handle
The 5 speed 'box doesn't suit a Caterham
13 inch wheels are all you should consider
Live axled cars are rubbish

Can anyone add to this list?

"Looks like a coffin, would fold up like a coke can in a crash". Ignores the huge quantity of evidence against this!

Caterham Cars are there to rip you off. Often ignores the fact that although it is your hobby, it isn't their's

SV's are only for fat people and aren't a real seven. "I'm not fat so I don't need one". Ignores the greater stability, luggage space, fuel tank capacity and room for wriggling you get. Also I would hesitate to call some of the very tall guys who can get in a Seven, fat.

CSR, see SV entry

It wont fold up in a crash its in fact totally the opposite which is why the driver is subject to over 90g for a few milliseconds and they would fail any crash test!

Another Myth is that the K-series is a piece of st and you will need to replace the head gasket every time you start it up!

"You simply must get a quick rack", takes no account of driving ability or use.

Clamshells are acceptable. Fact, they aren't.

The REAL clamshell myth is "clamshells generate lift".

(I love my clams too. I think Dino Ferrana omitted the wry smiley.)
