for years the lead I've been using has had no resistors in it, I've never had a problem, has anyone else found this?

Guys,

I too have done this on several of my previous cars too.

I wired mine directly into the loom on the Engine in the car and left it connected their permanently.

AFAIK its still sat there on my old R400, which is now owned by Mark from Blatchat.

We then plugged a PC into it directly and used easimap 5.

And no, I never had resistors on my cable, and no problems whats over.

For your R300, you might want to see if Alex Minchin has a copy of his map that we got after the rolling road session at Mech Repairs in Chelteham.

Also I never used any codes, I just made a back up of the original Caterham map, wiped the ecu and wrote a new one back to it.

Always worked fine for me.

I will see if I can find the old map from my R400 if that is any use to you at all.

All the best.

Nigel.

Guys,

OK will see if I can find it for you.

Mark I assume you were not given the CD I gave to the new owner of X400 SLR which had all the maps and easimap software on it too then?

Nige.

why do you want a map for someone else's car? Your engine is not likely to require the same map as theirs... Only for use as a base map to get you to a rolling road I assume. I would be giving it berrries on the way there as you don't know how far from stoich' you would be when around max rpm. Caveat emptor and all that.
