Ok so I wont go into specifics - otherwise this will get deleted again. But whats the current price point for a 1.6k ss with all the right bits?

£12.5 to 15K depending on condition and how keen you are to sell. Time of year and economic climate are against you. Even at lower end of price range no guarantee of interest at present and there seems to be quite a few alternatives out there.

Id like to think youre right but I think I need to pitch it at 10k given current climate- even then I might have to settle for 9.5 to satisfy my porsche shaped itch immediately. Has anyone sold a Caterham in the last couple of months?

GLOL at march hare.

Stripy, I think you are being realistic around the £10k mark. Just get it advertised & you will know from whether the phone rings if you have priced it right.

If it's a nice road car then a couple of the traders such at Paul Matty? and woodcote sports cars may be worth a shout - although they are probably struggling to shift their current stock too at the moment. They will be able to give you a good indication on price though.

There are also plenty of foreigners so I've been told that keep an eye out for standard caterhams to register in other places. Don't be shy of French Enquiries, they will probably be more genuine than british ones!

You may well be right that dropping down to £10K is necessary to get a quick sale. There are quite a few comparables on Pistonheads for similar, if slightly older cars at £12.5K, including one or two that have sold (although no info on sales price, of course). If you are going to chop it in to a dealer they would expect to make at least a couple of thousand on the sale so would probably advertise it £3,500 or so more than you sold it to them. On that basis I suppose £9K to a dealer and look for £10-11k privately (or wait until Spring for a better price).
