Not seen any for sale, so not sure what they cost on the 2nd hand market, but can anyone suggest a sensible price for a good condition satin black SLR cage?

I had it custom built by caged as they added 70mm to the vertical height to accomodate my long back.

Standard s3 ones normally go for about £500 - £600 these days in good condition. Extra height could lower or up the price depending on who is buying it I suppose . . ..

Not really much help that was it?

I swapped mine for an FIA bar which was powder coated to look as new.

Arnie, either you were desperate for an FIA bar or someone got a *very* cheap cage!? I was hoping mine was worth more than £200 odd.

Fergus,

Other way round. The bar on my car cost me the old FIA bar and a visit to the powder coaters.

I'd even previously tested the FIA bar in rollover conditions from whihc it emerged scratched but otherwise undamaged.

That said I think I should have paid at least £500....
