Trouble getting heat into CR500's in the dry? My race car has 30bhp less and I could overheat them within 10 laps of Brands Indy in October. I could get them properly warmed up on a green flag lap.
More likely the surface was too cold
You might want to look at your setup there. I raced on CR500s for half an hour at a time without ever over-heating them. I've also tested 45 minute sessions without an issue. Mine's a Roadsport A racing Caterham.More likely the surface was too cold

The stop/start way Top Gear do their laps isn't conducive to getting heat into tyres.

Really? My understanding of how it went was that there was sufficient dicking about between each lap to let the very low ambient temperature to do it's work. Of course, it could all just be a conspiracy.
ill try and find out cos matey of mine goes down there for the filming now and againTG is a power cct isn't it ?

105mph into breaking for paddock in RSA as opposed to 120-130mph in c400. Work out what does the hard work! Obviously actual corner speed is similiar-ish.
I'll side with OJ on this that the surface was the bigger problem.
Fair comments about the CR500s My two Caterhams have been 120bhp and 156, so I've not run a more powerful one anywhere near 200bhp.
Can't wait to see the R500 again. Surely it's been just as cold if not colder, so I guess it was the faffing between laps and this time they'll only stop briefly.
