Sigma vs K series + chassis queries
Discussion
it's a 2000 roadsport with a 1.8VVC 160bhp, 6 speed, lsd, AP brakes, widetrack, adj dampers, cf dash and wings, tillet seats so basically everything I need, a bit older than I originally wanted but it's very clean with low miles and good service history and will come with a full service and fresh mot so i'm chuffed
I have been racing a Sigma engine and obviously new chassis this year. A few tests have been done on a rolling road and the K series came out better on horse power. Not by a lot though! After racing over the winter against K series cars, there is no difference when out on the track as to which is quicker. IMO, i would go with the Sigma, over the next year, Caterham will be doing some development work on this engine and unleashing some more performance. At present it is 125 ish, although more like 120! and it has potential to be a lot more for not a lot of work.
The sigma looks to be a great engine and very strong, so you should be safe with that! oh and if you do decide to race, there will a lot more possibilities with a Sigma in a few years time!
Which car is it from this year? can tell you how it was driven and if it had any prangs!
Good Luck!
