My I ask what the significance of the lowered floors is?

I assume this isn't a lower ride height but just to have a lower seat mounting?

Correct. It drops the seat runners about an inch lower so taller guys can see through, rather than over, the windscreen! Usually just for the driver but i think passenger lowered floor is also an option.

Giving tall folk more headroom is clearly one advantage - but it's not the main advantage. The real benefit is in lowering the centre of gravity of the car, and hence improving handling = lap times.

...and making it safer if (when!) you roll?

I've just thought... If it's possible to have the seats lower, why aren't the "lowered floors" standard?!

Just marketing? or is there actually a worthy reason?!

Does it really make that much difference to CoG / lap time? Personally I prefer it because, at my height, it allows me a much better view. Didn't have lowered floors in my last 7 and always found left handers difficult as the rear view mirror restricted the view of the road. New 500 came with lowered floors and it's much better - wish someone had mentioned that this option was available when I bought the last one.

Just been looking at the options list...

What's the "flat floor setup"? This for downforce?!

What do ya get with "weather equipment"?

Can you get the full screen alone without weather equipment in addition to the aero screen. Or does the full screen and weather equipment come as a package only? Is it easy enough to get a screen on used market?

How much is it for a full standard height roll cage?

Are the "track day exhaust kit" and "trackday airbox" what you need to get down to 98db?

Cheers

"What's the "flat floor setup"? This for downforce?!" - setting the ride height, corner weights, camber and toe, to suit a specific driver.

"What do ya get with "weather equipment"?" - windscreen, wipers, washer, sidescreens(doors) and hood.

"Can you get the full screen alone without weather equipment in addition to the aero screen. Or does the full screen and weather equipment come as a package only? Is it easy enough to get a screen on used market?" - Everything is an option - ask CC.

"How much is it for a full standard height roll cage?" - about £800 (but that's a guess - ask CC)

"Are the "track day exhaust kit" and "trackday airbox" what you need to get down to 98db?" - Yes.

I've just taken delivery of an R500. I had the full screen but no weather equipment; they invoiced for the whole thing but then give a credit note for the non-supply of side screen/hood, so you're only paying for what you get.

Yes - these get it *reasonably* quiet, and I went for both. However, I've been told it will be marginal at some tracks - e.g. Bedford, depending on humidity, temperature, etc.

A "credit note"? For more options?!

So you order this first and put the credit note towards the sequential then?

Fair 'nough! spin
