Strange someone would leave such a nice and valuable car outside for so long... however I once saw an Aston Martin Lagonda sitting outside a townhouse in the west end, on arabic plates, had turned green with tree sap…

I agree with you; but I confess that my Seven did stand outside my parent's home for several months at one point. It was a bad time for me and this appeared to be the only alternative to selling it (which I wasn't prepared to do)

BTTT as I think I am going to go and see the car.
I really wnt it to go, this time, to someone who wants the car for itself, an enthusiast.

It's back again!

'this example must be one of the best maintained and truly original cars left' ...apparently.

Obviously I went down the '7 route in the end, but my enquiries on the '21 did turn up what appears to be a very nice one for sale for a reasonable price. I've got no connection with the seller, but it appears to be a reasonably shiny example from the pics - if anyone's interested PM and I'll email him with your details.

To all Caterham 21 enthusiasts;

I work for Coys Auctioneers and have been contacted by another member regarding a 21 that we are selling on the 3rd October. I would appear that this particular has spent some time outside and not, as described, 'the best maintained etc...'. We get our info from the vendor and I have spoken to him, he bought it after the restoration and so had no knowledge of its history. I am grateful to Robert for his insight and for the opportunity to redress the situation. I have made alterations to the Pistonheads entry and our own website. www.coys.co.uk
We always try to tell the truth in descriptions and appreciate how frustrating it is to travel to visit a car that is not as described. Please always let us know if we deviate from this!
Sincerely,
Edward Bridger-Stille, Coys.
