Roadsport noise

First time posting over here in the caterham forum.

I have a Caterham 1.8 VVC roadsport which is used for summer evenings blasts. It has just had full 'fast road' set up, shoocks, new clutch etc.

A friend of mine will be dropping the car back to me next week but I am thinking about meeting him half way at say one of the Goldtrack events in the evening at Silverstone GP. Circuit a bit long for the 7 im sure but its easy to get to.

The eveing sessions are limited to 98db, would anyone know approx how noisy a standard road 1.8 VVC roadsport is?

mike, you should be well under that, i ahve a standard VVC with R500 exhaust and it's fairly quiet

be fine as long as my missus isnt in passenger seat,got to 4000rpm in 2nd and she was screaming "slow down" louder than concorde on take off !!,followed by "if you do that again im gona slap you"hehehehe

hahahaha - well silverstone sort of on the way from down sarf.

You do still have my car dont you? That long weekend of using it ended up being a touch longer.. See you Tuesday night !!

My 1.8 VVC with the standard 4-2-1 exhaust with the cat removed recorded 94db at 4500 rpm.
Now with a Powerspeed box fitted it records 98db (but sounds way better).

With your set up you'll easily be under the Silverstone noise limit.

perfect thanks. the caterham sounds louder than my porsche 993 yet im going to be lucky getting the porsche through at 98db. thanks for reply
