I forget if I've asked this before, but basically the poles for my hood are completely tubular at the ends, with nothing to attach them to the body. Is there an insert or something that goes in the ends for them to pivot on?

All a bit academic as I have a half hood arriving any day now (I hope - it's been nearly a month!) but would be good to get the full thing going. smile

When I took mine off, I seem to remember that the bolt just goes through the tub bit and bolts to a stub that sticks up. Don't remember any inserts

Is there a hole in each tube end through which a bolt passes into the little triangle piece that sticks up on each side from the top tube around the boot where the sticks go?

I probably should have checked that! Just sure I'd seen inserts in the ends of the tube to pick up the brackets on other cars.

Mine has a threaded hole one side of each end of the hoop... that'll be how it fixes on then! Anyone know what the threads are? Doesn't appear to be metric.

I presume the straps on the hood frame are suppose to have poppers to attach them to the back of the car?

Hi Ewen,

Might be useful - hopefully there's little margin for error in 'put some poppers on the straps and find a bolt for the threaded holes' but I'm sure if there is I'll find it!

Presumably you can get a tool for attaching the poppers?

My straps don't popper onto the car - they are rivetted on. I'll include photos of that too. As for fitting poppers, you should be able to get the relevant tool from any haberdashery shop.

I'm having issues at the moment with the rivetted bases of the hood poppers pulling through the rear panel of the car mad
