Had to jump across from the Griffy Forum to relay this coz it warmed my Cornish Cockles:

Last Saturday morning was one of those rare Autumn specials: still, crisp, cool and dry. I was travelling along some of our twisties on my way back from Truro when closing up rapidly from behind was a red (with silver bonnet stripe) Caterham/Westy/7 of some sort. As it drew near I could see it was being piloted by some little old chap that was probably in his late 70's and wearing a flat cap and driving gloves . . . and also the biggest of grin's; which didn't leave his face during the minute or so he was behind me before pulling out and roaring off as the road became dual carriage-way. This guy was out for a hoon; he wasn't driving erraticaly or without regard for other road users, lets just say he was 'making good progress' smile

I hope to god I have that spirit about me in twenty five years time (assuming I've not popped and that there's space on our roads for a blast). He obviously had pride in his clean shiney motor and enjoyed using it for its intended purpose: fun, givin' it some! Like many I get frustrated when my progress is hindred by the aged, perhaps unreasonably. However, this chap restored my faith.

If it's someone from, or known to, these pages, I hope I've not come across disrespectfully; maybe he just looked ancient.
