isn't it about time someone updated caterhams status there ?

the old K series R500 at 7.55 was at least 30bhp down on todays D R500
it was on the old standard bilsteins I would imagine ?
probably CR500's as well
and Not driven by a full on Ringmeister (AFAIK)

what would the new R500 make in the hands on a ring speciliast and with a nice new set of ACB10's ?

(with all these special tyres that GT3's, GT-r's, CSL's etc.. come with standard these days it would surely be totally unfair to put the caterham on CR500's)

7.45 ? ... 10 seconds quicker ?

The greater top speed of the duratec alone would shave seconds off through dottinger hohe, the section after bergwerk and Flugplatz etc.. ? Maybe even sub 7.40 ... high 7.30's anyone ?

I'm sure any of the guys racing 7s here could beat the current time winkscratchchin "It's only a circuit like any other"...hehethumbup

Given that Radical seem to have gone all out to show their provenance their, I'm surprised Caterham haven't also risen to the challenge, as suggested.

Would be better off with something other than ACB's.

Rob Nearn was the pilot at the time and aparently there was a 'little bit left'..
I think you are right, the new Duratec powered car would be capable of a high 7:30 - low 7:40 in the right hands.

Oh god you had to bring this one up again hehe

Whatever that chap did in the Youtube clip, knock at least 15 seconds off of it for a pro-ringmeister at the wheel!

Perhaps the same again, maybe a bit more with a decent set of slicks on, but I believe that would invalidate the 'road car' provenance. A set of Yoko 48's would probably see around 10 shaved off of a CR500 time though.
