Bit of a dreamer myself to be honest, and I'll probably be too stiff to get in it, by the time, or if ever it's finished. But you have to follow your dreams smile
Maybe it's time to start looking around for an SV Mick?

Very nice solution Mick, well done - Think I´ll be contacting BGD for some "carbon" copy brakes when I get my build going!

+1

I know it's a long term project, but couldn't you speed up just a little bit occasionally hehe

Sorry to dissapoint. It takes a while to re-design, and make stuff up from scratch.
I'm quite pleased they're done, Another tiny step forward....
I might have the actuators done by the end of the year.
I'll save everything up, and do an update next year. smile

Cheers,
Mick. tumbleweed

Happy New year smile

Things to do...

Make the actuation arm longer.
Make a bracket to hold the parking brake cable.

I didn´t say which year did I? confusedsmile

Nearly there.

Thanks for looking smile
Mick.

Hello smile
Nothing too exciting I´m afraid.
The calliper adaptors/handbrake cable retainers are done. They will soon be sent for ENP (electro less nickel plating).
Last job is the actuators, then it can all go together smile

I´ll be saving my pennies for a nice pull rod floor mount pedal box soon wink

Thanks Peter. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your car soon?
I´d like to see what the torque curve looks like on that V6. It´s almost a flat 6 so should be quite torquey?
I like the fact it fits between the upper and lower side chassis rails smile

Unfortunately I´ve missed the window of opportunity for a Harley H1, as John has sold the rights.
He´s talking about doing a 2.0 litre in the future, so maybe the timing will work out. As you will see from the dates of the posts, I´m slow!
In fact I had some long phone chats with Richard when he was starting the build of the car you have now, and I was just starting the build too. Seems like a long time ago!

cheers,
Mick smile

I'd love to be in a position where I can post more pics up, but I've nothing new to show right now. Hopefully in March there should be some real progress as RS will have had it a couple of months. Just waiting for parts to turn up at the moment.

I'm finding out that anything Caterham related takes 4 times longer than I think it should, especially so for custom parts, so your build thread dates doesn't surprise me at all now! Haha

I know nothing about this motor yet, other than it can produce up to 600hp, and is torquey and linear, but I haven't seen a dynochart. It'll be one of my first tasks, run it in and then max it out on the Dyno. smile It's a very shallow v6 indeed, almost a boxer configuration. I do have a pic of this bit actually. Oh, and after seeing the receipts,it's not cheap either! O_O

Shame you missed out on the H1 motor. I read that Richard was considering that option for this car. And talking about time, it must be 4 years since this car started, or more. My enthusiasm doesn't last that long lol.

Can't you still get the Hartley H1 engine through Holeshot racing?

Thanks for the replies. I'm pleased someone has taken on Richards project, it would have been such a shame if it hadn't been completed. It will be a fabulous machine, and thanks to your commitment, we can all enjoy it smile

rdodger, it's quite possible, as Holeshot are still advertising the engine. Strange John never mentioned it to me though.
I've had a lot of correspondence with Jack Frost, but I don't want to bother him anymore untill I'm ready to buy.
If I can still get one when the time comes, that would be great! smile

I often wondered about why the shocks were mounted like that, with a different bell crank surely they could come from the bottom middle of the chassis rather than being mounted where they are.

Good project though, it really needs its own thread smile

Grrr. Usual excitement followed by disappointment (no offence to the above post!)

When I see this thread pop up to the top I get excited to think there is an update but then get deflated when there isn't.

Chop chop Mick, your eager audience awaits wink

Cheers
