Thinking about selling my caterham due to lack of use, undecided wether to wait until march'ish ?

Basically its a 2004 academy car in pretty good condition, recent full respray but there are a few small dents on the back pannel (corners) and a few small dents on one side pannel.

Full black pack, removable momo

Drivers tillet and non standard passenger seat / 4 point drivers and passenger harness.

Its done 8.5k with full weather gear, two sets of wheels 14inch with yokohama's for the road ( recently refurbed) and a set of 13inch with cr500's for the track.

So should I wait or sell know ? And what is it worth.

Any advice welcome
Phib

Also thinking of seling mine for a class move next year, so will be watching this with interest yes

On the grads site people seem to be asking about £11.5k for similar spec with recently refreshed engines

What's a refresh these days though . . . c.£3200 from Minister, couple of £K from MMM . . that adds a fair bit to the value.

My guess is more like £10K.

Road going polishers don't like ex-race cars unless they are cheap (and you don't want to sell cheap).
Racers do buy cars about now, but will only pay top dollar for a proven fast and fresh car (which I doubt you can demonstrate).

So that leaves you with people looking for a cheap ex-racecar. They will be buying up cheap race cars soonish (probably after Christmas when the racers realise they are in danger of being stuck with last year's car - that is the best time to buy IMO so the worst time to sell).

So, all things considered, I think you have 2 options - flog it now as a cheapish race car before the race car prices crash after Christmas, or get some proper seats, give it a road-car make over, a years MOT, and sell it when the sun comes out (the end of March or start of April).

Interesting mine has 12 months tax and mot and has been used on the roads for the last couple of years, have the comf seats as well as tillet.
However I really bought it so that I didn't use either of the ferraris in the winter and its great for the occasional blast.
Think I will probably sit on it untill march / april and then see what prices are doing
Thanks
