He hit a pothole which threw the car off-line into a tree stump or road sign (I can't remember what he said).

Plans are for a rebuild but there are a lot of dependencies on service providers, product suppliers and (partly) the 2nd hand components market. The end-game/desired outcome is known (it'll be quick) but the timelines are dictated by the dependencies.

sorry dont understand the edit comment, why wouldn't you start with a blank canvas rahter than something that has been fckd around with?
