Welcome home! My Caterham Freestyle Duratec 2.3 (one of a group of eight S3 specials built by Gary May in 2005-6 with his pioneering wide-track inboard front suspension plus SV de Dion), after a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration by Boss Racing, just completed.

Lovely. Which number is it? (I owned No.8)

My Sigma Roadsport, on the L7C Fish & Chip Run in May, somewhere on Llangynidr Mountain. My first Caterham and an absolutely fantastic car, and now on the PH classifieds ready for it's next lucky owner.

Hi - mine is no.4. As you probably know, yours re-emerged from the ashes Down Under a couple of years ago and has a new owner there. My Low Flying article from 2016 needs updating!

I didn't know it had resurfaced! I thought after the first (botched) restoration that it would be broken up for parts. Do you have any details on how it's looking now?

Hi. Hope I'm not inaccurate but think this is a pic of the car in OZ..., ( based on my interest in owning No.6 )

Hi is that a standard aeroscreen you've got there or smoked translucent one? I am keen on getting a tinted see through one for my upcoming 420. Thanks

Hi coolcatshaft - the aeroscreen is black carbon fibre and was supplied (If my memory serves me right) by a manufacturer known as Richard in France, who used to make a lot of carbon fibre products for Caterhams back in the "noughties".

He provided the aeroscreen, the dash, the gearbox tunnel cover and the side doors:

Sadly, I think Richard died in the early 2010's. (I'm sure there are others on this forum who might be able corroborate/refute that)

Out with the old, in with the new.

Bye bye Roadsport, hello R400. Big changes from the old car include Sigma to K, normal dash to Stack, 6" wheels to 6"/8", narrow track to wide, standard brakes to 4 pots, exhaust on the right to exhaust on the left, standard bar to FIA, 7" lights to 5", slow rack to quick rack, 5 speed to 6, oh and the small matter of 125bhp to somewhere around 210bhp.

Absolutely loving it so far!
