Would be very interested to hear your thoughts/experiences with that car. I'm tempted to replace the Corsa with one next year (you have to love VX depreciation).
I'm actually really liking the car so far. I came from a BMW 650i so had some reservations at first, but i'm still enjoying it. The 650 was nice, and the auto box was good, but for driving enjoyment you can't beat a manual and the Astra is pretty fun to drive. Although the car does feel quickish, i wouldn't say it feels massively fast but it does seem to be deceptive in speed terms, quite often i've been going a lot faster than i thought on the motorway - strange really i thought it would have been the opposite after the BM, especially as it's a harder ride and louder.

I even like the interior, which looks a bit cluttered in pictures but seems better in the flesh. The later ones got the piano black console surround which i think looks better too.

On the negative side, some cars had paint chipping issues - mine has 1 chip on the front, but about 5-10 on the sides with only 2500 miles on, but it's better since fitting mudflaps. Also, when it's cold and i first drive off it can be a bit jerky, making the neighbors think that i can't drive a 'stick'.

I was originally looking at a MK7 Golf GTi, but they are pretty bland looking, and the sales guy couldn't have been less helpful. I'm sure this would have been smoother to drive cold, IMO the driver information screens etc would look more modern, and i really like the steering wheel but i have no regrets buying the Astra.

Thought I'd make my first post on the forums after lurking for ages and show some griffin-based APPRECIATIONZ.

This is my Vectra B V6 SRi. Owned this one since May, proper one previous retired owner job. So far I've fitted the Astra GSi snowflakes, MSD 'G' Cams, GSi exhaust (not so much for power but the original was past it), and done the obligatory three-pipe mod.

Cracking cars these, quicker than people give them credit for as well as a great noise.

Boggo standard 2003 2.6 CDX Auto.

Paid just under 1k for it and I'm chuffed to bits - it's practically spotless! Unmarked black leather, 4 matching Pirellis with 6mm of tread, 105k on the clocks.

Only think that needs doing is the thermostat which I see as almost a consumable at that mileage.

First VX I've owned, and so far impressed!

Here's mine:

As you can see it needs a good clean at the moment as I had just got back from a test drive after fitting the new wheels/tyres. Also could do with lowering the front again as the tyres make it a bit taller.
