Still not had the weather to enjoy my new toy, but hopeful that this weekend might give me an opportunity!

cloud9

I had the same one years ago (blue Turbo, that is - I've got a red N/A now)

For all the VX forums argue endlessly about which is better, I do miss my old turbo. The extra power really makes a difference.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did mine!

Thanks! I love it so far, and having been unsure of the looks I now love the way it looks... looking forward to some dry roads tomorrow. I may stage 1 tune it too - not so much for the extra power, but to get rid of that flat spot.

Have you thought about charging your NA?

Every day. Ha.

Dont have four grand to spare at the minute, though!

To be honest you'd possibly be better off selling the N/A and getting a tubby - similar(ish) outlay and probably better residuals. Also I just don't like that charger whine.

I do, however, like the poke - I keeping mulling over the idea of mapping mine, but I'm not sure how high to go - a stage 1 map, with just a few extra horses, and eliminating the flat-spot might be all I need for the road...but then I'd like a louder zorst and IF I do do that, I might as well have 250hp anyway...

The poke of the turbo genuinely never gets old. I had mine for four years.

You need 300bhp. And all the torque. Oh and an exhaust! My N/A came with a full Miltek thing (unexpected surprise as I was going through the service history after buying) and it does make a difference (sound wise - not performance). Always thought they sounded a little disappointing as stock but get the Miltek nicely warmed up and it sounds like a proper little sports car (rather than a shrunken Astra)

Yeah, the sound is pleasant enough I think, but so quiet, especially with the turbo acting as a silencer (sort of). The problem is that to buy and fit an exhaust is looking like a £1k job - basically none of which I'd see back if/when I sold the car.
Right now my other challenge is finding a specialist to look after it - Back on Track seem to be the 'go to' people, but they're a fair distance from home. PSR are very very local, but once again they seem to have dropped off the grid and aren't replying to texts or emails. Thus the current plan is a stage 1 map and a minor service at AMD at Lakeside, and then think about Back on Track next year for a major service... Or of course if I'm really enjoying VX life I might upgrade to a lower mileage car in better condition. Decisions!

Here is my MY11 Arctic

The Remus sounds so good on these! Internet folklore would also have it that it adds a few ponies too?
It's an Arctic not a Nurburgring smile

Just a run out special edition without the Remus. Standard exhaust fare.. it's been remapped though 270bhp

I'm interested in the estate version of this - would you pass on any thoughts you have about the car?

Have had 2 months now and finished the run in period.
Nice smooth car around town and on motorway.
Onstar is very good. Sends reports of car every now and then. ie engine condition, tyre pressures, MPG etc
Also downloaded the Vauxhall app to my phone and that will give you the same information.
Apple play works well. I listen to podcasts and my music from my iphone.
Performance, both speed and road holding is very good and i'm getting 42 MPG
I have had the last 3 generations of Astras and this wne is by far the best.
Hope these few points help.

Thanks - very much so. I've got the 2.0 turbo 200PS version of the Astra H. I wasn't sure I was going to keep it but then I saw these and thought I'd keep it for a bit while these get a bit cheaper.

1.4 turbo 150ps Elite. Not very Pistonheads but as a reliable commuter car its a comfy place to be with a wee bit poke under the right foot. Enough toys as standard to keep me entertained.

Although penny pinching VX should fit the LED rear lights as standard as they do sharpen up the back end. However they werent that expensive on the options list.
