You can't test drive it but why don't we chat about it

Frustration since speaking to a certain vauxhall dealership in Brentwood

Me: Hi, i would like to arrange a test drive for the new astra vxr. I am interested in part exchanging my 09 plate astra VXR
Salesman: Yes, when would you like to come down?
Me: Today or tomorrow, will you have a car i can test drive?
Salesman: No, but you can still come in so we can discuss the figures.
Me: There is no point discussing figures if i don't like the way the car drives. Can you confirm you are unable to provide me with a car to test drive if so, i will go to another local vx dealership instead.
Salesman: No problem, let me know how you get on.

I have contacted another franchise in Basildon and am awaiting a response.

Am i missing something? - Does the brentwood salesman know something i don't? are there NO VXR demonstrators in the whole of Essex?

There is a demonstrator alive and well in Basildon.

What a shower of ste that other dealer is. Do they not WANT to make a sale?

They didn't have one, refused to get one, gave me no advice on how to get one but still wanted me to come in for a chat?

Idiots.

You either;

apologise for not having one,then explain that you will TRY and get one and then come back with the outcome
apologise for not having one, explain that because of x,y, and z you will not be able to get one but try xxx dealership
apologise for not having one, suggest that i go to xxx dealership to test one, get a quote then come back to original dealer for them to beat the quote.

3 decent opportunities for good customer service, along with a spin on a bad situation to turn it into a sale - MISSED.
