Hello all,
I recently had a problem with my Boot locking mechanism. where the boot wouldn't open at all, and the key just rotated in the barrel.
I fixed it not opening by doing moving the bit of plastic on the barrel to the point where the rod meets the locking catch

What I have a problem with now, is that the boot won't lock anymore. I've checked the mechanism, and found out that there is a little hook that looks like it should engage when the vehicle is locked.
Picture below

The problem is that that little hook doesn't engage when I lock the vehicle.
Here's a video of the lock spinning in the barrel

Any help is greatly appreciated

After some thinking, I remember hearing that within the barrel are some "rods" or something, and apparently when the boot is slammed by accident or whatever, these can become dislodged.
Would it be worth me taking the barrel to bits and checking these rods, as maybe these are what is supposed to bring that hook down to lock the mechanism. As the central locking works, but doesn't engage that hook, and it looks like the central locking just rotates the barrel to a "locked" state as if you turned it with the key.
Any ideas and does this sound "Logical"?
