Evening all,
A cry for help please!
My son has a Petrol 05 plate Astra Auto. On Sunday he was driving home and the dash indicated that the 'box was stuck in 4th, with the engine management light illuminated on the dash. He came to my house, as it was closest, and called the AA.
The AA man plugged his diagnostics kit in, but all he found was a gear ratio error, which he cleared. He took it for a spin, and it got stuck in 2nd.
However, he found that the 'box works fine when using the stick in the manual position.
Is this a common problem? More importantly, is it a cheap/easy fix?
