Can anyone tell me where the ecu is located on an Astra (F) Mk3 1997? I've read that its either under the bonnet near the coilpack, or in the drivers footwell behind the trim on the RH side.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, yes I found it. Managed to get it out (complete b@stard to get to) got it tested, and it came back clear.

Had a few instances of it randomly cutting of at junctions. Normally after a start when if was partially warm. Tried all the usual suspects, idle valves crank sensor, Egr, tps, leads, coil, fuel pump relay, ecu check. At the moment it looks like it might have been alternatively the fuel pump relay or engine temperature sensor (ecu sensor, not gauge sensor). Cars still being tested. It's difficult as it was only an intermittent fault.

Thats random - no eml coming up as if it does you can do the paper clip test to read fault codes

No, nothing registering in the ECU and no eml. That was what was confusing all the garages. Rather than pay them to chain things on a whim, I decided to do it myself and save £50+/hr.

Maybe worth asking on the mk3 astra owners club see if any members have had similar issues? I havent come across this myself but I am sure they can advise better than myself

When was the last time the car had the fuel filter changed? May have been a coincidence but that solved cutting out issues on an old Mk3 1.8 sport I had.

Like Kev the giraffe says, Mk3oc might be a better place for model specific questions.
