I'm looking at replacing my Golf with an 11 plate, 1.4 (140ps) Astra Gtc, and I was wondering if anyone had experience of one of these? Just wondering about general faults and real world Mpg.

Cheers.

My girlfriend has a 12 plate, after a disaster experience with a Mini Cooper D previous to it (Unreliable). She LOVES it. does around the 40mpg mark. handles well, shares "HiPerStrut" suspension with the insignia VXR I believe. Nothing gone wrong with it so far, 18 months in. It's a good looking car IMO.

Agreed, far better looking than the equivalent Golf or Focus. Certainly havn't read many bad things about reliability or how they drive so far.

Unfortunately on the way to work this morning I hit a badger while doing around 50mph and smashed the bumper, fog light and surround, lower wheel arch liner and cracked the rad casing. Could have been worse, but it means no new car, till I can get this sorted frown
