Oh...900T-R...you're probably right, sadly we live in a nation where MP's no longer even pretend to listen to their constituents.

Isn't getting blown down the straight by a chopper cheating?

S'funny, I was there yesterday and had to wait until 18:00 to use the track while these crappy Opels hogged the entire circuit for almost the whole day. They didn't look good at all. They just looked like boring commuter cars being driven to the limit by experts. If that helps GM sell more Corsa's to old ladies I'd be surprised. They'll be clapped out by the time the chavs start using them to do donughts in supermarket car parks, or whatever these cars are really meant for.

There would still be some scroat with a bean can exhaust who think that could do it faster!
I met said scroat in March. In the wet, with 4 up in the car and a huge body kit and a mahoosive sound system. He made it to just beyond the 2km mark on what I believe was his first lap before bending his car and the armco on both sides of the track.
He'd of probably been ok if he'd remembered to fold the rear seats down to make the car go faster...

Same here... only difference is our infrastucture is slightly less ancient (I read the other day that if you wanted to go from Rotterdam to Breda (both in the South West of the Netherlands and barely 30 miles apart) by car in the Thirties, you needed to drive 100 miles eastwards to Arnhem (near the German border), to take a bridge over the Maas river, then drive the same distance back via Belgium. No wonder trains were popular in those days).

At least you got to go on at 1800. I was there Saturday and Sunday and the track was only open for 5 minutes at a time. "The track is open, oh no wait, some biker has stuffed into the armco and so now it's shut for 45 minutes." FFS!

About an 8:20BTG then? Blimey.

I felt pretty heroic getting an 8:35BTG out of an equally powerful Clio F1. Mr Reuter has 15s on me. I feel humiliated.

I'd heard weekends were really hard work now due to traffic on the circuit and crash recoveries. My last lap at 7:25 PM was superb fun since there was hardly anyone left on the circuit at all. As a matter of interest, where are the generally accepted start and end points of a lap for the general public using the barriers and cones? I noticed Clarkson ended his at the overhead gantry, which is about 20 seconds before the last marker to enter the car park. I'm assuming Opel didn't have to re-enter the car park for each trip around, although there seemed to be long gaps before they re-appeared.

what with it being as big as a last generation astra you mean.. i'd though that..

___

as for credibility.. erm no. we have all read the wrieups we all know it's accomplished (and fairly cheap and has great seats) none of this was at issue. what was at issue was the shite/pikey/max power/looks and general lack of appeal as a product. if they some how made a miniature saab out of it it could be cool(ish). i don't really like the astra vxr but at least it's a proper car these corsas however good they are look like they're for people who buy soft toys from clinton cards.. wink

Yeah but my mates got a corsa with a 2l turbo calibra engine that wid da wicked induction system and exhaust kicks out at least 400bhp and could easily "have" that corsa. He's added a strut brace and phat rims so it corners on rails too.

Oh wait, he's in the hedge.

yes

Corsa would look better if it was lower, squish it vertically down 20% and voila, it'd look not like an MPV!

Hence the c'mons?

You just know there's a car out there that has the complete collection of c'mon toys lined up along the parcel shelf. smile

Bit inaccurate, this particular Corsa blows, as do all the diesels, it's only the NA petrols that suck.

hehe
