Now I think I may have previously mentioned that I quite like the GT350R ....

.... so I was moderately interested to hear that not only is the standard Mustang GT going to be at Goodwood this weekend, but none other than 'The Stig' (version 2, I believe) will be demonstrating the GT350R! bounce

Does this mean that the 350R is on it's way after all?! ..... dare I dream? I'm getting quite excited! ..... but I'm hoping Ford don't burst my bubble with some ridiculous price tag or 'Goodwood customers only' BS. I've got all my fingers crossed .... woohoo

I'm at good wood fri / sat and looking forward to seeing the mustang, amusingly I was there last year and don't recall seeing it then as it was so far off my radar it didn't exist.
However the pricing and heritage have made it attractive to me - can't wait.

Very envious .... especially with the 350R being there. Unfortunately I can't make it this year, which I'm now doubly fed up about with the news about the 350R. I'm hoping Ford are using the FoS to gauge potential demand so I'll have to register my vote by proxy! smile

Should be a good event - enjoy!

Live feed from Goodwood FoS. About 9.20, so I understand, for the batch of cars that include the GT350 .... bounce

Looked awesome on the TV! ... but couldn't hear it too well. When you have to tune the mics to cope with those rotary engined Mazdas and full-on NASCARs it's not surprising I guess! smile

Not the best pics sorry, may get more tomorrow - this is not like a generic car in lots of little ways - the front splitter won't last 5 minutes!

Got my heart set on one of these now but going to wait until after the launch before I order, definitely need a test drive first and to have a close look around one. Coming from a several Golf GTi's bit concerned about the build quality judging by some of the cars in the states(panel gaps etc) hopefully the European cars are better QC'd before they ship.

Plenty time to decide between race red and deep impact blue!

Anyone know if I order later in the year what I could be looking at delivery time wise?

Wow, what a noise!! If they sold the 350r here in the UK, approx how much would it be? That sounded and looked sensational!

Well that's the million dollar (but hopefully not literally!) question! ..... indeed, two, million dollar questions;

1) will Ford sell it outside North America? As they're showing it at Goodwood you'd think Ford are seriously assessing the possibility. I'm certainly hoping so and my deposit is ready! smile
2) the price? Well the standard GT is (i think) about $14k more (in dollar price) in the UK. A fully loaded 350R is around $60k in the States so if Ford decide to keep it competitively priced you'd imagine that would make a 350R around £48k in the UK. On the other hand, if Ford only make it available in limited numbers then i guess the figures could be considerably bigger. If it was any more than around £50-52k I don't think i'd bother to be honest - you're approaching used Ferrari money there so I know where my hard-earned would be going.

But hey, I'm not going to be negative - Ford still have no official plans to sell it here so there are still a lot of questions to answer and hurdles to jump before we need to start worrying about price! smile

ps .... just seen the new Focus RS going up the hill on the FoS live video stream. I was completely underwhelmed. Very disappointing.
