Today I was lucky enough to find the European mustang specialist on the stand.
The DRL three bar lights are too high for the UK hence lower drls but they are trying to deflect light into the bars when the lights are on.
The stripe is a decal but painted on the roof of coupes - this is brand new and he advised are with stripes may possibly be delayed over cars without if it's an issue.
No plans for any other modems at all as official ford cars
Synch 3 isn't even on radar for mustang Europe
Cars are CL First, then dealer demos then our cars
I asked him to come on ph to tell all officially and he said he might - he was probably 30 ish

Thanks for the update - I'd like to think that you've dropped the bait for Ford to join the conversation online. The big brands are supposed to be embracing social media after all....well when it suits them smile

2 out of 27 are rag tops ordered from my dealer
As mine is Sunday car it has to be convertible ;-)
I prefer the look of the fastback for sure, but I've ordered a rag top. This is one of the few (or only?) 4 seater convertibles available new today at a decent price and we're using as a fun car for the family (although daily drive for the Mrs)

I think there will be very few rag tops as when I ordered mine, they only had 1 other convertible ordered. Happy days to be (a bit) different.

Not doubting you but that makes no sense. Range Rovers and other SUV's seem to manage ok & theirs are much higher. Never mind the fact that they're same level as the headlights. Bloody stupid legislation, no doubt from the EU.

They're active on 6g.com, at least the American side is. Have to wait and see if we get any kind of online presence/support when we finally start getting our cars.

Fantastic. Well done on cornering someone from Ford. Hopefully he'll pass on your PH invitation to the powers that be and we'll get some official feedback from Ford. Better late than never.

DRL's too high? I guess Ford know what they're talking about but I've lost count of the number of cars I've seen with DRL's next to the headlights - including Range Rovers and the like (as has been said already), and those DRL's must be WAY higher than a Mustang. The rumour I'd heard was that, rather than too high, they were too far back from the front of the car. Which ever turns out to be true the lack of tri-bars is ultimately down to EU 'jobsworths' I suppose. But the total lack of information with regard to .... well anything really, but let's say stuff like the OTT stripes ..... I still find unbelievable - stripes were added as an official option that customers were being asked to pay for and yet no-one seemed to know the exact details. First we had one picture, then another. Some rumours said the stripes were painted, others said decal (it now looks like both were true!). I still can't quite comprehend how such a bocensoredks up has been made of the whole launch thing, so I look forward to some input from Ford.

Just back - best FoS ever really had a good one.
Stripes, if you have the painted roof its a solid painted stripe at the same time, the fade is only front to back and not "finished yet" he said the only pic he had was a photoshop and they are silver grey and black - no white.
DRL - he said "type approved " and they were still working on them so its not confirmed yet but DRL will be in the fog / driving lights.
Remember this wait for the stripes may delay your car as they have not ever done it and it may look bad and left for later etc.
Ford staff are very excited about selling this car in europe - and it showed

Got my heart set on one of these now but going to wait until after the launch before I order, definitely need a test drive first and to have a close look around one. Coming from a several Golf GTi's bit concerned about the build quality judging by some of the cars in the states(panel gaps etc) hopefully the European cars are better QC'd before they ship.

Plenty time to decide between race red and deep impact blue!

Anyone know if I order later in the year what I could be looking at delivery time wise?
.

As you've probably gathered UK Mustang is all a bit of a shambles so far. Demo cars are said to arrive in November. Orders currently placed have been suggested for May '16 delivery - so probably wise to work on 10-12 months wait from order to delivery, whether this time shortens later on no one seems to know. Build quality - again know one really knows because a UK production car has not been seen yet. There have been a lot of build issues in the States with the early cars, a lot of which seem to have been rectified as production has continued. From what I've seen so far this car will not trouble the Germans when it comes to overall build quality, fit and finish etc. but then again that isn't going to be a huge concern to most buyers.

Unfortunately I had follow the whole thing on the live video web feed this year as I is was working. But from what I saw I have to agree - it had to be the best FoS ever. Really wish I could have been there. Certainly never seen anything like it when The Doctor turned up! .... fantastic!

I didn't go for the stripe option in the end because of the rather silly fading out design so hopefully no delays. That said, I've emailed my dealer three times over the last 2 weeks for an update on build/delivery etc and as usual heard the sum total of fcensoredk all in reply banghead

That's the timescale I thought, which actually works well as I'm in a PCP deal at the moment.

Roll on a demo becoming available!

If anyone can't wait here is a US GT for sale over here with only 500 on the clock.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2015-FORD-MUSTANG-5-0-GT...

Bit less than the cost of a UK one but it is a non premium and non PP model, from what I can gather from the ad.

Update from my dealer today after I enquired re: pre-increase price guarantee and firming up spec.

1. Price will be pre-increase
2. He said "I am unable to log into the Mustang order site to recall placed orders as they are finalising allocation, once I am able to get in which will be around 2 weeks time I will communicate to everyone about spec ordered."

I ordered on 26th March 2015, confirmation email from Ford on 24th April. Delivery anticipated end of year.

I did say that the fades stripes wouldn't be painted wink

But having painted roof stripes and vinyl fades sounds very odd to me as the roof will have a different finish to the vinyl (gloss vs silk for example).

Then again, I'm not having stripes, so not really a concern.

Its literally only just been released on the Q3 marketing program this morning so i doubt it will be online yet. Give it a couple of days and i'm sure it'll be on there.
