Heard from my Ford dealer today ...finance deals are now available for quotation:

Good news, residual seems high ....£35,385 car, V8 fastback, manual , 3 yrs , 6000 miles /yr.
GMFV is (a healthy) £17,907 (~50%).
£12k deposit , 36 payments of £268 (6,8%)

Life is good.....going to add a deposit for the new TVR on Monday just for fun .....clap

have fun
Matt
Wow! that does look good and would feel much better than taking my cash out of a couple of ISAs.

Hey guys

First time poster here, though I've been following this thread with interest for a while, sharing your agony and ecstasy.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I placed my order for a triple yellow Ecoboost fastback (I've spent a lot of time in the states, loved 'stangs for years!). Just curious how many of you guys have got the Ecoboost on order - it seems like everyone's gone V8.

Was at the local ford dealer again to book my gt in to have the transmission checked as sometimes its hard to get in gear or shift at high rpms, a known problem with the mt82 tranny. While i was there I had another look at the roush stangs. They look much nicer than the normal gt's apart from the roush decklid. If i was getting an s550, i'd kit it out with roush exterior trim pieces.

Thinking about it and much that I like the idea of only £12k down and then a very easy £268 a month, it does mean that nearly £5k is charged in interest. Not sure I could deal with that.

Also if they think a GT would only be worth £17k in 3 years time, it's a shame I just can't hang on a few more years but I'll be nearing my 60s by then.

The finance may be a deal breaker for me usually take my golf GTi's on a 4 year PCP with a smallish deposit they hold there value so well I change at 3 years with a bit equity in the car.

No danger I would put down 12k with a still hefty final payment it makes it a pricy deal.

Hopefully better deals will come around after its launched.

My maths maybe wrong but does that not equate to over a third of the outstanding balance charged in interest or does it equal 6.8% per year over the three years?

I'm just a poor customer for a Mustang, not a regulated financial advisor rolleyes I posted the finance example to show the relatively healthy GMFV of the V8 mustang.
I won't necessarily be going this route for the car ....it was just an example for comparison . Suggest you ask your dealer for an example based on the conditions that suits you. Here's the quote from Ford credit for info.

Have fun

Must say I'm getting rather Pi**ed, regarding delivery dates, had my VIN number for a while now. Still no confirmed build date showing on Etis.

A UK customer with a VIN? Most of us can't get confirmation of spec!

Went this morning to have another look at the White US GT at Guildford Ford this morning. Took 2 of my 3 kids along to see how they would fit in the car.

The 9 year old was perfectly comfy but not so my 15 year old daughter who is 5'6". Head touching the roof/rear glass. Not good news as the missing child, a boy 12 years old is already at his sister's height and growing rapidly.

I tried sitting in the back and the legroom is fine, I'm a tad under 6ft, but my head was at a 45 degree angle or more.

When you look at the amount of space in the back of a '65 Mustang, I wonder why they made it so tight, especially as those rear seats are so comfy. I wonder if there is room to make them more sculpted thus lower.

The majority of the time I'll be driving it on my own and it's rare that I have all three at the same time, maybe just holidays and then a different car will need to be used due to the amount of luggage but it's the first time I have had a feeling of trepidation.

What am I doing spending £33k of hard earned cash on a car that I can't give my kids lifts in, I should be looking at a secondhand M3 but I have wanted a Yank Muscle car since I was little.

I don't want to put a dampener on this for you Croyde.. But, it is not just Sitting in the rear, there are the issues of getting in and out (should be ok with Kids) the other problem is the required front seat position. If you are a 6 footer, you will probably need to drive with your knees against the dash.

I hoped you checked that point of having kids in the back and you in the front, with the ability to drive.

I did mate. I can have the driver's seat in the correct position for me and sit behind myself. Legroom is very tight but not much worse than my old e36 saloon but it's the bent neck and sore head for anyone over 5'4".

My daughter is 5'6" with her head touching the roof/glass. Hit a bump and it's gonna hurt and I could almost imagine the glass popping out.

At the end of the day the car is for me and with some of the places that I have to work and leave a car, I'll need an old snotter around anyway.
