What's the point of having a great, great car like this and not using it? It's like not shagging your wife, so that the next guy can.

Haha.

I plan to keep this one until it's a classic and I'm too old to drive.

The interior in that car is awesome! I'm not a massive fan but I would buy it as an investment car😏

Hi All,

New to this forum but have been thinking about placing an order for a V8 mustang and it has been useful reading through this thread.

Ideally I would love to see one in the flesh before placing a deposit. I know others have already asked but just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on the whereabouts of the Ford UK car that is doing the rounds. I know someone mentioned Leeds in mid-August but I am based in Kent so would rather avoid the trip if there is an opportunity to see it closer (and I know it was at the county show 2 weekends ago - damn holidays getting in the way of important car business)

So it looks like there is a show car doing the rounds in the Ford Stores. I know there's gonna be one in store at Leeds on August 15th, does anyone have or know where to get hold of a definitive list of when and where this show vehicle(s) is due to make appearances? I'd like to get more than one look.
I had an e-mail from Ford Preston to confirm they're going to have a V8 Coupe in Guard colour on 22nd August for one afternoon only and that they would be taking Mustang customers for a drive in it. It was invitation only but might be worth a call to see if they have any appointments left.

Their demo car arrives end of October, same time as the first non-UCL customer cars.

Think Ford in Guildford have a white US GT that does the rounds of their other stores further west. Worth calling them to see when they have it back although another member did mention the 27th.

Bill Shepherd in Byfleet have a few US GTs and they were quite happy for me to have a good look at one even though they knew that I was buying a
UK model. Others have said that they were very accommodating and I presume that they are hoping for some custom as in upgrades and servicing.

Don't know where in Kent you are but both places are minutes from the A3/M25 junction.

I'd love to see one in 'guard'. Even though I've ordered competition orange, guard was a close second, it being the nearest to the famous 'highland green' featured in Bullitt. In the end I went for the orange as it saved me a few quid and I really like non-metallic finishes.

It would be even better to get a drive in one, something I know won't be happening in Leeds!

The coyote motor is solid, the weakest link is the mt82 transmission.

Same here - TY on order but Guard a close second.

I've pinged an email to Preston Ford garage to find out if the car is touring anywhere else in the UK. I'll let you know what I hear.

For those that haven't already, get yourselves over here as well for a lot more info/help/support:

In other news ('cos I know everyone loves to hear about my order! wink ), I called my dealer yesterday to hopefully drop the climate seats option as I'm going to get the Ford Racing Recaros from the States, not expecting to be able to since I ordered 25/01/15.

Sales guy tells me yep, no problem changing the order, no we didn't receive the email changing from DIB to Oxford White (sent in May to the original salesman who promised to forward it on to someone relevant!), and no, I can't give you an exact date for your order lockdown. He seems to think I'll be taking delivery this side of Christmas.

Once again I have those niggling doubts about the fact he couldn't give me a lockdown date yet according to him, my car is going to be built in the next two months or so.....meh, can't do much about it now anyway, but once I drive that car off the lot, they're not going to see it, or me, again.

Bit late to this thread, been mooching around on Mustang6G.

I'm one of the "UCL Winners" although i use that term loosly. I'm not really sure what that signifies anymore since all the UCL cars along with early deposit payers seem to be coming together.

Got a Deep Impact Blue, Ecoboost, Fastback on order. As much as i'd have loved the V8 its going to be used for work and therefore not really viable given the mileage i do.

I have my VIN and current build date is 3rd August with ETA to dealer of 17th Oct.

There is a thread on the Mustang6g forum about attaching the front number plate to the front bumper without drilling any holes. One of the European posters is going to be making up brackets and plates to order, there is the Sto n Sho option which looks like it will come a cropper the first time you hit a speed bump and there is this, which is genius and cheap.

Congrats and welcome to the fold. I've only been waiting 7 months so far frown

But it will give you time to soak up any info on the web, constantly watch users reviews on YouTube and even learn how to fit your own aftermarket exhausts and super chargers smile

That's good that it's a long wait, it will keep residuals high. I have to pay a deposit by 10th august and car is due before Xmas however convertibles may be delayed when they actually start RHD production.
