As a prospective owner, I was chuffed to bits with his impression......the fact that it's nothing like a BMW is a bonus...smile
I've had a lot of decent drivers cars over the years and I can tell you the E92 M3 (DCT) is a brilliant drivers car, needed a little more steering feel but when pushing on it was just sublime. I would want an immersed driving experience but time will tell. The reason to shift from the BMW badge was mainly the new M3/M4 lost the magic N/A V8 engine and went turbo power.

Order for the Mustang was placed some time ago so not long to wait now. At this price point it does appear to be a bargain, just hope it gives me enough thrills on the road.

^^^^Don't take this the wrong way, but is steering feel, suspension dynamics, and sublime handling really that important on a road car?? smile

Personally I just want somthing a bit different from the usual grey Euro AUDIBMW stuff.
Something nice n comfy for the odd Euro tour, easy on the eye, reliable and fun, for a weekend blatt...smile and something I enjoy owning..and is easy to live with

The fact that it's not going to deliver the nth degree in driver satisfaction is not really on my radar.....

After years of sports motorcycles with their race bred engines and suspensions, I have just bought a Vespa 300. It handles like manure but boy am I enjoying being on two wheels again and it's so much fun.

I'm getting this for weekend and evening cruising to pubs and food - it will make me happy. How it drifts on the Welsh coast road matters not a jot.

Last car that made me look forward to a cruise was my DB9 Volante - this is a bargain equivalent in my eyes

That's not really why you buy a Mustang but I hope it converts you. I would still have ordered if they had left the solid rear end but I'm really glad they didn't. I suspect my Mondeo will be quicker round the twisty bits but I don't care.

I'm not taking you the wrong way at all, it's fine, we all have our views on what makes a good car for us, I've had an EVO9 GT running high power but it was boring as feck on the road, sold it and replaced it with something that thrilled me more at a 1/4 of the cost and much less power. However, suspension dynamics and handling is an important factor in the overall package. That package for me also includes, looks, road presence, noise (high on the list) that aural pleasure :-)

I'm sure it will be a winner...

Fantastic review from Chris Harris, and in my opinion, exactly why i'm an early adopter for the UK mustang.
Excited, to say the least ...roll on November.

Had an update, CL and Demos built any day and delivered late October, convertibles subject to a slight delay but I should see it by end of November.

Had an update from my dealer this morning...smile

Good morning Mr Q

"I am just letting you know we are waiting for a build date on your new car. As soon as we get one we will have an ETA for your new mustang.

Thank you for your patience, I’m sure the wait will be worth it!"

So a none update update ? ;o) - people talking about finance, you know you can get the car on credit and then sell it to a leasing company to lease back - mate did this with a Tesla recently.

Ordered mid-January. Wouldn't be surprised if delivery slips a little given the time of year, which will mean almost exactly a year from order to getting the keys in my hand.

I shall be calling my "dealer" tomorrow then since I ordered 25/01/15.

I still have my doubts my order was placed with Ford in a timely manner.

The second batch of cars (ones not CL or demos) are being built in September what I don't know is what period this covers , ie orders placed to say end of Feb fall into second batch etc.

Anyone who ordered in Jan is definitely second batch

Consistent with what everyone has been told and what I was told at Goodwood and listed here and last week.
First cars made in august are CL and demos, second larger batch is our cars I just don't know how far that cut off is it may be after feb or mid feb but certainly Jan orders will be delivered pre Xmas

I know rag tops are at the end if the run and so are possibly factory stripes

Hit any dealer with that and they will agree as mine did
