Just ordered mine today. Used my local dealer Evans Halshaw in Preston, they have one in the showroom on Saturday the 22nd at 1pm so they told me so will have a look at that, assume it's the same car that's doing the rounds.

I've gone for a 5.0 V8 Manual Coupe in Guard Grey/Green with Saddle Leather, Shaker Audio, Climate Seats and Rear Park Sensors.

Congrats! Welcome to the fold... and to the waiting game... Assume they are still quoting 12 month wait from order?

Yes looking at roughly 12 months from now which suits me to be honest as it gives me time to start saving up! Still not sure how I'm going to finance it although the plan is to keep it for a while so may just get a bank loan.

Head says I should have gone for the Auto but the heart won!

H Pipe fitted, sound is awesome, deeper burble albeit not much louder on idle, but has a great raspy growl on overrun and foot off the gas..

Not noticeably gained any HP but makes the ride so much more audibly pleasing.

Idle now at 88 dbA
5k up to 120 dbA.. smile

MRT H Pipe from CJ Pony Parts $230
Fitting. $75

So.. £195 well spent.

Cool - unless you want to track it. Even loud days in the UK are sub 105db.

I had American Racing longtube headers and SLP loudmouths on my S197 - tested at Cadwell at over 128db eek

Was very wearing on long journeys though, so I replaced the Loudmouths with the stock silencers and put some Badlanz cutouts on. Best of both worlds then! Have 97db closed and ears bleeding when open smile

For warranty reasons, will be leaving the S550 bone stock until it expires!

Good to see some late adopters joining us smile

Once the cars start appearing on the roads, I think Ford dealers will be overwhelmed (which doesn't take much as they can't even seem to deal with the waiting list deposits hehe )

Am I the only one who half-hopes they don't become *too* popular (i.e. common) on the roads...?

I think the Ecoboost will see a lot of sales eventually but I'm sure that the V8 will be rare and only bought by enthusiasts willing to put up with 12mpg.

I say 12 as that's what my Grand Marquee did on day to day driving.

Ford dealer I went to (peterborough) said 75% ordered cars are V8. Glad to see common sense prevails smile (not)

Somewhat pessimistic smile I got 22-25mpg from my S197 and that was in a fairly high state of tune.

The Coyote is bigger displacement, but more efficient than the older 4.6 lump, so I expect them to balance out.

Yep. I reckon I'll be able to eek out 30mpg on a run and yes, I'm willing to take bets on that! biggrin

Looking at MPG vids on YouTube, I've seen high 20's on a mixture of highway (65/70ish) with a bit of city driving thrown in & I think the figure from one specific vid was around 27US, so I don't see why we shouldn't be nudging 30 over here.

Obviously one good squeeze of the fun pedal & that figure will go to st! rofl

Let's face it - none of us are buying it to 'hypermile' wink

!2mpg was driving it like I stole it and through central London gridlock. I still got it through gaps that driver's of smaller cars wouldn't dare attempt biggrin

On a run down from Scotland to London over 3 days (taking in the sights of the Highlands) I got 26.

I've just never been good at getting the posted MPGs on cars. My E36 323 does 18 around town, my Street Triple did 30 and my current Vespa 250 does 60 when others claim they get 85+.

I only manage to average 25mpg out of a marginally 'tuned' 2l so if it manages anything low 20s or high teens thats's both doing very well and as near damn it very little difference cost wise, not that doing 5k a year costs much anyway!

Update from my dealer this morning (I have a convertible if that makes any difference):-

"I’m afraid that we still haven’t had any updates on when your Mustang will be delivered. They have however released the below timetable that suggests that your car will not be built until October (your order was placed 28th January 2015). I’m afraid that I think this means we won’t see your car until January/February time.

I’m sorry I can’t give you any further information. I will be in touch as soon as I hear anything more substantial."
