No updates or comments in a day, I think the hope of a car this year is subsiding for many. I already know my convertible will be last of the next run but still hoped for this year simply because I want it now!
I will have to buy a temp car until it arrives which is a pain.
Yep, its not looking good for a Christmas Day drive, apart from if you are UCL or early deposit payer (2014).... I am keeping in reserve teeny bit of hope that they have just started RHD production slowly (to ensure quality etc) and will ramp up fairly quickly in September to get the rest of the initial 1200 out of the door.I will have to buy a temp car until it arrives which is a pain.
Ever the optimist.
While we worry about the location of cup-holders, handbrake, start button etc.... http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2...
Hi chaps,
Following a bit of a moan at Ford UK on social media, they have been extremely responsive in terms of kicking the dealer into action and got a bit of an update today.
Whilst my order is on Vista it's not in build yet. However, the dealer in question has cars on the line and some even complete. So they are being built.
However, that doesn't mean that they're ready to be shipped. I expect early line-off cars will be taken to be tested/checked to ensure they are compliant and no bits fall off etc. Once they are satisfied, onto a train and boat and over here. They are expecting first cars to land (including their demonstrator) in November and will organise an open day/experience for those with orders accordingly That's likely to be the first look at a RHD car.
What was also interesting is how there seems to have been a disconnect between dealers and Ford in terms of customer comms. Apparently, originally Ford Stores were to take the order and Ford would then take over (regular!) comms with customers. However, for whatever reason it now appears that it's left to the dealers to contact customers and keep them updated?
I've also asked for confirmaton on specs now that the cars are in build. Nothing so far, but if I hear anything I'll share here.

This would be hilarious if it wasn't so seriousAnd they wonder how easy it is for a somebody to get shot on live TV
Go Compare has the Mustang on it's site. My cheapest quote was £380 with eSure and that's London on the street working in entertainment with business use as the cons with the pros being 53 years old, Full NCB, no claims or convictions, licence since 1982.
Tomorrow I hope to be putting an offer on a rental in the countryside 30 miles outside of London that is in a quiet village with a garage, so hopefully the insurance will be a lot less.

The S197 Mustang is possibly not the best car to buy if panel alignment is high on your list of worries.
Says who..?I know mine is a US car.. But I have no issues with panel fit at all. All my gaps are consistent and true.
Seeing as no one has taken delivery of a RHD UK spec car, how can you assume the panel fit is going to be poor..?
Ford have always had a slating here in USA, from Fiesta to Taurus models.. BUT, in recent years they have really upped their game in build quality and robustness. Anyone would think they are being built in a third world country the way some people on here view manufacture.
Edit:
Corrected that for you Benny.

My comment was a little tongue-in-cheak and I'm basing my opinion on my S197 so probably a bit unfair. The car was screwed together very well indeed and I never had any issues in the four years that I owned it. The fit and finish wasn't up to "European standards" (hate that phrase!) but that's not why I purchased it and I fully accepted that. It was a little crude but that's partly why I loved it so much.
Hi guys . I am pulling my order next week for my GT . Haven't spoken to the dealer yet , quite honestly felt more loyalty to you guys on here so wanted to run it here first . Fastback, competition orange , black roof option , black trim . Manual . All the extras .( less all the bits they've changed !!) Deposit made February . Expected delivery who the fk knows ? Not looking to make anything , will just want the deposit back . Don't know if it'll be poss or even if anyone likes the spec ? Thoughts on this before I call the dealer next week ? Good luck with your cars guys . Be good to see them on the road . I'm going the import route , lee
