Hi guys . I am pulling my order next week for my GT . Haven't spoken to the dealer yet , quite honestly felt more loyalty to you guys on here so wanted to run it here first . Fastback, competition orange , black roof option , black trim . Manual . All the extras .( less all the bits they've changed !!) Deposit made February . Expected delivery who the fk knows ? Not looking to make anything , will just want the deposit back . Don't know if it'll be poss or even if anyone likes the spec ? Thoughts on this before I call the dealer next week ? Good luck with your cars guys . Be good to see them on the road . I'm going the import route , lee
Hats off to you for having the Kahunas to say 'enough is enough'! I hope Ford get the message that folks aren't happy with the treatment they've had.

Good luck with the import, hope all goes well. I'll probably be selling my car and (unless Ford have a change of heart and make the car officially available here) importing a GT350 - so if you find a good dealer in the US please keep me posted. Cheers.

Yes ..... and also some kind of odd fading OTT stripe option - not that you'd know this from the completely shcensoredte UK website/configurator. Check out the US configurator, which makes ours look exactly what it is - complete second rate bcensoredks! ..... which is a pretty good reflection of the way Mustang buyers have been treated by Ford.

True, true. I didn't know till a friend pointed it out that the custom pack changed the wheels, as the uk configurator doesn't update the image.

This makes no sense! confused

You haven't stated specifically why you're pulling your order but I assume it's the uncertainty of the delivery?

How is importing one going to be any better? If you want RHD then you're still going to have to wait in line for it to be built; if you're happy to go with LHD then yes, you could probably buy one today but it's still going to take a couple of months to get from the dealer, onto a boat, cross the pond, get SVA'd etc etc. Realistically, you'll be getting a LHD car what, 3 months earlier than if you just hold on?

I guess if you're ok with LHD then fair enough, but for the sake of 3/4 months?

It's not just the delivery date ( whenever that might be ?? ) it's
Not just the service or lack of Communication from ford , it's not the diluted spec etc etc !! It's all of these ! Always owned and driven lots of LHD muscle cars both old and new , just fancied a RHD proper car with attitude . But weighing things up , " for me" at least I'm out !!! So for me it DOES make sense , I can go the states have a week in the sun , choose a car and arrange the shipping . Sit back and wait ! Pay the duties and vat and still won't be out of pocket !! Then I have a LHD car full
US spec and know that anything I buy for it will fit ! Alternatively I may go to a Chevy dealer and test
Drive a couple of camaros and see what happens ! As I said previously I wish all you soon to be mustang owners all the very best with your cars . Hopefully I might meet one of you at the lifts in my .ZL1 ???

Or you can buy one on eBay today.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-2015-Mustang-5-0-V8-...

For me it has to be a Mustang, but it needs to be RHD. There's nothing missing from the spec I want in the RHD versions (except the strut brace and Pony decklid that are going on as soon as it arrives); but I want a cruiser, not a lights racer or track car. Part of the ethos of the Mustang is that anyone can have what they want which despite the UK changes is still true. Bottom line is that you said "just fancied a RHD proper car with attitude", you didn't say you wanted a Mustang, which makes your motivation and priorities a little different to most of us on the forums. BTW if you want to order one from the States but using the US configurator with all the options plus IVA and delivery included then I would recommend Wayne Roper of Europa SVT. Great service from personal experience. Have fun.

I'm using a tribar red/white/blue Pony Pack driver's side fender logo so it's similar but not identical to a V6, and a nod to my business partner's '06 Pony Pack. Just think there should be a Pony on the back and I'm not keen on the big gas cap.

Sorry. Plain decklid with a Pony emblem instead of the 'gas cap'.

Ditto on the deck lid, though I quite like the US "GT" deck lid myself.

But now you've mentioned the strut brace you've gotten me thinking about that too...! I've taken a look at aftermarket braces that are available. They come in two parts with a black member that runs behind the engine. Sorry for my ignorance but am I right in thinking that this part is the "K-Brace" and that this part hasn't been deleted from the European spec?

Second question - anyone know roughly how wide the strut tower brace is? Will be in the U.S. Soon, so spy an opportunity to avoid shipping charges...

Sorry for the thread creep - could have asked in the mods thread but it came up here!

I cancelled my order recently, and ford refunded my deposit without any hassle.
I cancelled because after giving it more thought after sitting in one , I had concerns about rear passenger room, build quality, poor visibility and to be honest, they're are better cars out there for the same sort of money, albeit used ones.
I saw a new mondeo recently, looks like a new mustang with 4 doors, I think this dilutes the appeal of the new mustang a lot to be honest.
I would urge anyone who is serious about this car to at least visit a show room with one and sit in it, because these cars are huge for a coupe, you can't see where the bonnet ends and there are no front parking sensors. The quality and layout of the interior is not great on reflection either.
I wish everyone well with their new mustangs, will be good to finally see them in the road.

I should cancel my order as I can't justify spending the money that I don't have but I have always wanted a Mustang.

I can't see the front of my little e36 either but you get a feel for these things. I think the interior is fine and if anything too classy for a muscle sorry pony car. I would prefer a more utilitarian interior.

I agree on the rear room as it will mean I can only ever take 2 of my 3 kids for a ride. Not sure why it was designed that way as the original Mustang had plenty of room for 4.

It's not the legroom, it's the headroom. Surely a slightly higher roof line would not have detracted from its looks or even the style of the 60s coupe rather than fastback.

I think there are technically better cars but not ones that make you feel like the mustang will.
I recently had a 2010 E500 cabrio that was well built, nippy and packed with toys but it was boring as hell - to drive and to look at. I assume the mustang will be a similar drive but to look at in its deep blue with white stripe it takes me back to days of dreaming about cars. It will have more emotion.

I agree that there are similarities between the mondeo and the mustang, the bonnet creases, headlight and grill shape. Most manufacturers have a brand "identity" in their car design these days.

However, if the two should wind up parked next to each other at the lights I don't think there will be any confusion... hehe

Hi guys, I have just got back from a trip to the US. I have a Mustang GT (RHD) on order. I was in California and saw lots of Mustangs. It does not look like a Ford Mondeo, although I agree Ford are trying to keep some association between their motors, so some Ford DNA is shared across the line-up. So in this sense it also 'looks like' a Galaxy or Fiesta, to be expected really.

I am a TVR enthusiast first and foremost so the wait to get my car is absolutely fine - I have actually seen them, they exist. Unlike my long wait for a new TVR.

The Mustang does look great but the final spec plays a big role in this, fortunately in the UK we seem to be getting a car which is some way beyond the base v6 in the USA. Here are my thoughts:
Colours - I have ordered Guard which I saw once, looked a little more grey than I expected which made me pleased not to have the black wheels, for my eye they didn't look quite right on that colour combo. I saw one specced-up GT in White, it looked awesome, a colour I initially wouldn't have gone for. Ingot silver and Magnetic looked a bit flat for me as did black I'm afraid. The surprise for me was Ruby Red which looked great, the best of the bunch I saw.
Sound - Whilst nosing at the White GT the owner came back and showed me the car, then fired it up before heading off and up to the redline. At idle it is a quite reserved but nice noise, doesn't compare to the rumble of my TVR, but from about 4,000 rpm there is a howl which sounds amazing.
Panel gaps - I'm coming from a TVR so can't say this is an important consideration for me.
Size - Not that big. It's no MX-5 but I don't think we want it to be. For me the long bonnet is one of the most appealing features of the car and always has been...
Interior - For me the Mustang should have a pretty simple, black interior, again this is not a Zonda or TVR for that matter, the look is just right.

Wait - It has taken 50 years for Ford to bring the Mustang to the UK, this is a pretty big change so I am not surprised that there have been some issues along the way, but trust me it will be worth the wait, it will look awesome on our roads. Can't wait.

^^^^ your view of the car is pretty much what I'm expecting, without your advantage of actually seeing one yet...^^^^smile

As an ex TVR man.... (A wedge and 3 Griffs).. I'm expecting this car to put a smile on my face in exactly the same way....thumbup
