DIB is actually quite a popular colour over here now.

Take a look next time you're out & you'll be surprised just how many Focus/Fiestas/Mondeos & even Transits there are now wearing this colour.

I was initially going for DIB too until I asked the dealer & he pointed to the Fiesta in the showroom; I was hoping it was actually a shade called "Spirit Blue", which is an option on the Fiesta ST. It's a much more purple-blue, but since DIB turned out to be just a regular shade, I ended up going for "motorsport white". wink

I saw the DIB on a mustang in Canada and in the UK on a mondeo. Certainly a stunning colour, looks very premium and I think people will be very happy with it. For me it took a little of the aggressive nature away from the mustang, one of the reasons I've gone for the absolute black.

Got another viewing on the house I'm buying tomorrow, I need to measure the garage - I have a horrible feeling its too small for mustang. I hope not as its the main reason I'm moving and already costed automatic gates and roller door. Basically I'll look like batman - gates and roller door opening at same time followed by all black car shooting out.

I'm just a big kid. I have batman pants.

The cars are definitely not going via Spain, they're going Baltimore to Zeebrugge (via Brunswick & Charleston), then offloaded for undersealing before getting back on a boat to Southampton.
Mine is on the Eurasian Highway which leaves Baltimore on 21st (if it gets there in time! It's running a bit late)

I shall cross examine the chap at Trust - he has failed on the letter timescale as well.

I'm moving to a place with a garage. It's 2.5 metres wide but it's 3.6 metres long.

Mustang is 3.7 metres cry

Oh well! according to the compare sites my insurance goes UP if it's garaged.

Think you'd best get your tape measure out again as the Mustang is 188.1" long = 4.7m long (unless you did a typo)

Haha oops. 4.6 metres I meant.

I could accept that it would have been far too short for my old Mercury at 5.3m but losing out by 10cms.

Not a bad show at all on the handling front. smile

What impresses me is how close it is to the latest M3/M4 which are quicker in a straight line, 7.9s 0-100mph vs 10.6s of the Mustang, so in essence the new Mustang is comparable to new M3/M4 in handling/cornering it seems.

Can see these cars being a great platform for track drivers, remove 100-150kg, tweak the suspension and get rid of the crap Pirelli's for decent Michelin MPSS or cup 2's and I can see the Mustang being very successful on track.

Excellent video! Certainly highlights the difference that 50 years of progress makes!

The lap time certainly looks good and the way the speed builds in the 0-200km/h test is impressive ..... however, there are a couple of things. As you say, RHD cars will be missing 5bhp and that exhaust is definitely not standard. OK, the 5bhp should really only affect performance at the top of the rev range, hence the main deficit will be outright top speed - but in this test there were no super-long straights so maybe the 5bhp loss would not be significant if the test were repeated in a RHD car. The exhaust however could make a reasonable difference - obviously it's likely that there will be a gain in power and (depending on the make of exhaust and whether it incorporates the resonator delete, which it sounds like it does!) it shaves around 30lbs off the weight.

Either way, standard RHD cars shouldn't be too far off .... looking forward to getting mine even more now! I'd love to see the test repeated with the GT350R though! biggrin

To be frank 5BHP will have zero impact on lap time, him hitting an apex or missing an apex would have a bigger effect.

Also I doubt most owners will keep cars standard. A tune to Vpower, air intake, exhaust/high flow cats will see these cars gaining a solid 30-50 horsepower quite easily.

Also the stock PP setup is quite bouncy, even some Steeda progressive springs on the stock dampers and thicker roll bars offer quite an improvement and lets remember the stock PP cars run the Pirelli Pzero tyres which to be frank are nowhere near as good as Michelin MPSS let alone cup 2's.

Take a PP car, do the bolt-on mods, change the springs and roll bars along with fitting some decent Michelin tyres and that driver would easily shave of a second or more from that laptime.

Do some weight reduction and full suspension (coilovers) and its going to be a lot faster and not far off GT350 pace.

Not even got my car yet but already ordered a GT350 steering wheel for it, I shall be going Whipple 2.9 route, progressive springs, roll bars and some larger wheels with Michelin MPSS along with a Ford FRPP Sport exhaust system, cannot wait. biggrin
