That's a US GT btw so 435hp.

Just saying biggrin
Don't think it makes much difference to be honest, small changes in power have very little impact on lap times, brakes, suspension and weight have the biggest impact or adding a huge amount more power. biggrin

Very true.

Here's a nice little vid for us lot that still have not driven the car. Closest we will get to a test drive and the exhaust/engine sound great from inside the cabin biggrin

To be frank 5BHP will have zero impact on lap time, him hitting an apex or missing an apex would have a bigger effect.
Yep, on the short circuit at Hockenheim agreed - might be different on the 'proper' circuit or at Monza maybe?! smile .... and as Croyde says, if this is a US spec car it's maybe 5-10bhp up on a RHD car before the exhaust mods, so could be 20-25bhp. That must make a difference. Yep, a mistake would have an impact too so I guess the test should take an average of a number of laps to be more meaningful.

Also I doubt most owners will keep cars standard. A tune to Vpower, air intake, exhaust/high flow cats will see these cars gaining a solid 30-50 horsepower quite easily.
Yep agreed (again) but I though the idea of this test was to obtain a standard car's lap time? Not having a go, just saying ..... anyway, what the hell - it's a great video! smile

Karen has emailed me to say that my car has left the plant on a 'Barge' to Baltimore.

Do they really transport them by barge?

Looking on Google Maps, it doesn't look like there are any 'barge' facilities ..... however I would guess that the US definition of a barge and the UK definition of a barge are somewhat different. Assuming a US barge is still some kind of boat, maybe it's a barge across Lake Erie then onto a train? I don't see how it could go all the way to Baltimore on water .... and if it did I think you'd be lucky to get it by next Xmas, never mind this one! smile

Good find on those lap times ...I'm also really excited by this , given all the hassle and delays on spec, build, delivery and shipping etc .....made my day . Thanks !
I'm also planning on sticky tyres , exhaust , suspension upgrade and +200BHP courtesy of Whipple. Bang per buck ...for a 4 seated car (ish) that you can use everyday (depending on fuel wallet) I think it'll be incredible ..driving
This makes the ~1 year wait (should have mine in Dec / Jan ..?...Built on 1/10 according to ETIS)so much easier .....

I'm going to stop (at least today !) following the forums and wondering when my car will arrive (or have definitive info) to just looking forward to it .....beer

have fun
Matt

DIB, V8 coupe manual + custom pack , ordered 23/1. built 1/10 ...waiting for next update ....

Have just had confirmation that my car is on the vessel EURASIAN HIGHWAY. I'm starting to get excited now!!! Looks like it spent 2 days in Baltimore and is now on its way.

Im going to speak to a shipping agent friend to see if he can tell me the planned date of arrival of this vessel. Unless anyone on here can tell me?

Also does anyone on here know if their Mustang was on the earlier vessel Ivory Arrow?

If that was the one that left on the 13th I'm hoping mine is on there.

My gate release was 02.09, so with another week to get to the docks there's a chance it made it onto that one, depending on how many there were already sat there.

Waiting for my dealer to confirm via Vista today. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday. Possibly Monday. rolleyes

My car was built yesterday! It shares its birthday with the Back to the Future, future.

Hopefully it will be back over here in the future.

It's a shame they were wrong about the flying cars...

Nice to see everyone getting excited over the cars, starting to feel real. I've emailed Karen for an update, I'm expecting Jan earliest as my dealer messed up my order (placed December) but would be nice if its earlier. I should be in my new house by end of November so plenty of time to get garage ready for her.

On that note, I've always thought of my cars in the female nominative, but my father said this car should be male and it got me thinking. Then everyone just started to take the mick out of my 'puddle lights'.

Went into my dealer today to sort finance and was told the car actually unloads in Zebrugge. So although the boat goes to Southampton after Zebrugge my car will stay in their flushing compound where the cars are regionalised (stereo set up etc). It will then be shipped to the UK (Dagenham i assume) then onto the dealer.

I've been given a delivery date to me of 12th December. Given we know where the boat is and its expected docking day now i think these dealer delivery dates are becoming a lot more set in stone now.
