Went into my dealer today to sort finance and was told the car actually unloads in Zebrugge. So although the boat goes to Southampton after Zebrugge my car will stay in their flushing compound where the cars are regionalised (stereo set up etc). It will then be shipped to the UK (Dagenham i assume) then onto the dealer.

I've been given a delivery date to me of 12th December. Given we know where the boat is and its expected docking day now i think these dealer delivery dates are becoming a lot more set in stone now.
That's a great date for an April order. I ordered March and have no news. Mine's a V8 'vert which may have slowed things down.

The cars get undersealed in Zebrugge before travelling on. I understand they will come into Southampton where Ford have a massive facility, and a nearby (ahem) correctional facility in Eastleigh.

It unloads at zeebrugge for undersealing, spends about 3 weeks there then back on a different boat to Southampton. It clears customs then off to your dealer. Doesn't touch Dagenham

Hi guys, trawling through here trying to work out the next phase. My car was built 21st October but I have never (ever) had an email from Ford. Does anyone know how to work out when the car may make it to a boat? I have access to Etis and the window sticker...

You'll need to get your dealer to access Vista to find out when it gets booked onto a boat.

AFAIK the stages on Vista will be:

Resegmentation (final QC)
Gate Release (leaves factory ready to go to docks)
Shipped (on a train to docks, takes a week or so)
Booked (day it gets assigned a space on a boat NOT actually gets on a boat)

Something like that anyway.

So chased my dealer again today

Last update I had was build date of 15th October

Build date is now 15th November with delivery estimated as end January however they are open and say they have little faith in the information available to them

They also say that in their opinion there is now way that anyone should be receiving a 5.0 litre mustang aside from champion league winners and those who placed deposits blind before launch.

That was in response to me saying people on here were getting sight of theirs shipping

So...anyone on here got a 5.0 on the way ordered after launch in January?

Cheers
Noel

My dealer told me today that he is frustrated with the lack of information.

His Vista has not updated since 29th Sept.

Karen told me they are having issues with production - mine was due early Oct build and now being told next week build. I placed deposit 'blind' in December so I'm not happy. But given I have little choice and I now have a new house to distract me I'll just wait.

Whilst I'm not exactly losing any sleep over it, I'm beginning to get a little bit annoyed. Clearly something is going on that we're not being told about and I for one find this seeming reluctance from Ford to divulge the truth irritating and offensive. Whether there is genuinely a problem or whether they're just too busy knocking out cars for the US market (7,000 per month plus the GT350) I don't know, but a bit of respect and appreciation from Ford - i.e. the truth! - would be nice. That said, if Euro cars are going to the upfitters to make sure the quality is super high while the US market has to make do with poor panel alignment etc, I guess Ford wouldn't want to be shouting about that from the roof-tops. Who knows? ..... not us that's for sure!

Anyway, there's always a choice - you can tell Ford to go and shove their Mustang where the sun don't shine! smile

I'm getting sorely tempted.

The shine has been totally taken off the whole experience and having just moved, with money being tight, my head is starting to rule my heart.

Hi there

After much chasing and speaking with Karen I have finally got a confirmed and secured build slot supposedly.

Dear Mr Gibson

Thank you for placing your order for a Ford Mustang. I wanted to let you know that production of right-hand drive Mustangs has now started at our production facility in Flat Rock, Michigan, USA.

Your vehicle is one of the earliest builds and is scheduled for build on 16/11/2015.

The anticipated shipping time to our dealership is 12 weeks after vehicles have left Flat Rock.

Once your vehicle has cleared customs and is loaded onto a ship in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, we will be in touch again to share with you the name of the vessel. This will allow you to track its progress via www.vesselfinder.com. Once your vehicle has reached Zeebrugge, please allow 5-6 weeks for European customs clearance and onward delivery to the UK.

While it’s been a long wait, we hope this live tracking will provide more information in the final phase of waiting.

Many thanks

I was supposedly the first in the UK to place a deposit way before the Championship League thing but I think my dealership was a little slow with submitting my order because when I gave the deposit they could not submit as no such vehicle existed anywhere on there systems.

Still I am happy, hopefully there will be no more delays and this means I should get the car end of January to middle of February, which is great for me as I shall arrange for collection on March 1st so its on the new registration and take the car straight for a paint correction if it is full of swirl marks. smile

Just heard from my dealer (status date on Vista 23/10)

My orginial build date was 15/10, now scheduled for 8/11. Estimated delivery date to dealer w/e 23/1

I have a VIN number now which I didn't have before.

I'm pretty relaxed about it all TB, it'll come when it'll come.

Whenever I think about cancelling I look at videos of the mustang and look at any other cars around that price point that would match it - nothing does. The only thing that came close was a jag, I forget which model (looked like the mustang - xf maybe) but it was 30odd k for a 2011 car with 20k miles.

As I said earlier, Ford have done a poor job keeping the customer engaged - not even sending a brochure out! I get more contact from BMW garages and I haven't even ordered anything from them.

Yep! Porsche kept in touch with me long after I got rid of my Boxster. I did email them to say though I loved the car, there was no need for anymore contact.

5 mins later the phone rang and it was Porsche UK asking if I fancied a brand new 997S for 24 hours biggrin

I put 500 miles on the clock and they didn't even bat an eyelid. Just said that if I was interested I should give them a call.

The XKR looks a bit like a Mustang?

A lot of conflicting info here, some cars are on ships ordered after cars that haven't been built - I know convertibles are delayed but overall it's a mess.

Oh God! how I want one of these cars .... as I may have mentioned before! smile The more I read and see of these cars the more envious I get.

My GT will be getting sold as soon as I get it and the funds (hopefully with a small profit) will be used to buy a 350R, although given the current demand in the US and the fact I refuse to pay a premium on MRSP could mean I'm waiting a while ..... unless ..... Ford, come on - you know you want to! yes

Hi all. New to the forum & after reading all the posts on this thread, thought I'd chip in. Deposit down two weeks ago at Gowrings Reading on a Ruby GT with heated/cooled seats, shaker & sensors. Been actively watching & waiting since the R/H was first announced and 2016 is the time to change from my current motor. Pretty sure that my Family & friends are getting sick & tired of me talking about this so thought I'd better find like-minded people who don't mind! Two weeks ago, I was like "I can handle the year wait.... it'll be fun" but now it's, "really? Only 2 weeks! My god, I have another 50 to go!". Looking forward to you guys who get their cars next month posting photos & info. Cheers
