Major issues on their tracking system.

Over a hundred pages. I started this thread when I placed m deposit back in Jan and apart from knowing it was built Sept and didn't leave the factory for over a month I have no idea where it is.

My 2015 Mustang 5.0 GT Black has arrived at Think Ford in Guildford this afternoon and I've seen it and touched it. My expectations were low but I can't fault Think Ford for keeping me updated.

No not UCL, I paid my deposit 22/1 and firmed up my order on 1/5 when I was told November delivery.

Dealer is hoping to get mine back from the bodyshop on Monday so they can hand over on Tuesday. UCL & first delivery in the north east so they're doing a little ceremony & pics for the website. Meanwhile I'm taking their demo GT tomorrow until mine is ready, have their Vignale at the minute.

I did the same and was told the same, but it's looking like January now.

Enjoy.

I spoke to Trust yesterday, apparently a few of the earliest Jan orders got some left over CL production slots (?)hence some on here getting cars, my order was 28/1 and is a "normal" slot. Interestingly since it was built its gone off radar (I am not the only one) and whilst it "may" turn up out of the blue it also may not.

Keeping Starks car company by the looks of it. I'm baffled by the logistics process, mine was prioritised by Andy purely because it's UCL and I whinged so much.

Just been to my local Ford Dealer had a test drive in a red 5.0. Got a black convertible in the showroom also a couple of customers cars.
They are quoting 9 months now for an order of Triple Yellow with Black roof.
Cost on road £37,394 that includes £2,880 options. RFL & First Reg Fee £1,155.
£20 Fuel & £499 for protection Pack.

Well, I've just secured purchase of a cancelled order. Race Red, v8, all the options except nickel wheels and black roof. Went for a test drive and it was everything I'd hoped for. Collect it next week. Very lively, good sound, loads of features. Norwich Ford were very honest about availability, but do in fact now have a silver demonstrator available along with a black one which is now sold. I believe they have 14 due for delivery soon, but don't know if they are all sold or not.
If anyone is concerned about build quality, don't be. It's good. Not BMW/Mercedes good, but actually not far away. Paintwork is actually better than the wife's Bimmer and inside is well built with lots of character. Dash board can display loads of engine parameters as well as performance stats etc. etc. Interestingly, no Service package is available. Annual servicing, minor and major is paid for at the time. They didn't have servicing costs through from Ford yet but assured me (!) it would be reasonable. It's a Ford!

Congratulations on the purchase !

Don't know how much of a test drive you've had but how did you find the Auto trans ?

Well they would only allow me to drive a couple of miles. It's very smooth in "drive", reasonably quick. In sport plus it is noticeably quicker and firmer. Definitely not as good and as quick as the 8 speed auto in our Bimmer, but the engine masks the delay in the paddle shift very well. I wanted the auto as modern autos are so good and I guess it just suits the car. On the other hand, Being 50, I've mostly driven manuals and always said autos were crap! Funny how times change! My Capri, which I've owned for 30 years currently has a 5 speed and an LS1 engine in it and has pro's and cons in being manual.

When I bought my VXR8 new in '09 it had to be a manual, I wouldn't even look at any auto's. After a couple of years with the car I realised how good it would have been as an auto.

Have you seen how much more economical the auto Mustangs are supposed to be as well - extra urban for the V8 is something like another 5 mpg over the manual !

There is just no way in hell an auto is getting 20% better fuel economy than a manual.

Possibly not, but it shows how far things have progressed. In times gone by, especially here in the UK, auto's were seen by many as inefficient and thirsty. Now days many manufacturers are quoting better economy for autos over manuals. It is the way things are heading. Having said that I would still want to drive manual vs auto Mustangs before making final judgement on a preference.
