It carries on. Mine finally arrived, almost a year after ordering, at my dealer on Thursday.
Unfortunately I could not pick it up this current weekend as working but I have a whole day off on Monday.
Excellent they said Monday it will be.
Had a text earlier today saying 1615 Monday. End of the fekin day, so much for my day off on empty roads. It'll be dark and very busy by the time I drive away.
Just called them and they are adamant that they are trying their hardest for Monday evening citing that it's normally 8 working days from delivery to when the car is ready.
Really??????
Come on all the lads in the garage are going to have a have a go in it. Unfortunately I could not pick it up this current weekend as working but I have a whole day off on Monday.

Great parking can they get the car in a smaller space. That would piss me off
Should be okay at a dealership compound, it's out in the wild where they get bashed! My S197 got dinged by a convertible Nissan Murano pram thing in my works carpark. I nearly coughed up my spleen with rage. Ever since that incident I do a lot more walking from one end of the carpark to the other....Picked mine up from Ford - Warwick yesterday.
At last the wait is over. The car is everything I expected it to be. It's very solid - feels more solid than the last E-Class I had.
The engine - wow. It sounds so good and it's addictive. I can see why so many seem to have gone for louder exhausts - it just sounds fantastic.....but you want more. I haven't really opened it up yet - too slippy - It felt like the Pzero grip isn't great - I'm going to have to learn to be more gentle with the accelerator - and ultimately move to Michelin tyres - they just seem better (it was 4C and damp).
Inside, the car is snug. Everything works well - the voice command is great - even copes with a Midlands accent for instructions to making calls, playing music and setting directions. Pairing with my phone took less than a minute and it finds the music on your phone if you use the USB interface. I was expecting Sync 2 to be slow after reading the reviews. It's certainly good enough. Other features like being able to change the ambient lights and dial colours is really cool- you personalise the car. The seats are supportive and very adjustable and everyone loves the puddle lights.
Economy? No one expected it to be great. Taking friends and family out last night - I was getting around 15. Today - a steady on motorway and country roads I got 27. Given the cold and damp conditions, I can't see this improving - but for me anything over 22 is good.
The dealership? Aliens Ford - were great. The information was not always there - they did the best they could keeping me up to date and the handover was smooth. I am very impressed with Ford.
Overall - delighted - worth the wait. Someone on these forums recently said it puts the joy back into driving. It does. It's great to drive and a real head turner (you will get a lot of attention). As Chris Harris said - it brings out your inner 9 year old. For those still waiting, hang on in - it really is worth the wait. Right - where can I drive to now?

Oh no, that makes the second Race Red with custom pack in the Warwick area (I dragged one back from Guildford on Sunday). Mine's only 2.3 though - look forward to testing out my (future) tuning options against you At last the wait is over. The car is everything I expected it to be. Haha, you have very good taste. Will be interesting to see how the Ecoboost compares - it looks to be very tuneable. I'll be leaving mine as stock for a while.......or that's the current plan anyway Sevboy123 said:
I also test drove it yesterday, liked it loads, didn't notice any of the quibbles people have ranted on about,my car is here and I pick it up on Wed morning, but am just pondering over the sale of my 3.2 TT,do I trade or sell private?
Get a quote for trade and weigh that against what you can realistically (and quickly?) get selling privately. Not forgetting to add the pain and risk of selling a car privately.Gassing Station | Mustangs | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
