Probably not get graphics, but I might get aluminium louvres for the back window.

The manager actually came and shook my hand saying this was the nicest colour combination they had through.

What's he quality of the paint like as I've ordered black also and am thinking of getting a paint correction and GTechniq treatment done when it arrives?

The boat was supposed to go to Bremerhaven first (steaming right past Zeebrugge), but LINER RELEASE has popped up on my tracking... I wonder if theres been a change in schedule.
My car had liner release three days out from Baltimore, so I would guess it's a paperwork thing, as my car arrives at the docks today, 7 days after liner release

Looks lovely in sunny red!

I had a depressing time on Friday for the first time in probably 20 years I was in a Ford showroom, lovely place with all the information at hand but quite quite soulless. A bit like an easyjet flight.
Mustangs everywhere at least 7 inside and outside and the sense of occasion evaporated instantly.

Anyhoo after 15 mins standing about to pay my £10k and hand over the retention doc I went into a side office and asked "a bloke" if Andy, Ivan or anyone who can help me was about - Andy was with customer but sales manager Gary would help (I thought Ivan was this) - I handed over passport and dl and they printed off the forms for the PCP deal of £440 over 3 years I then noticed they had used the wrong Christian name and spelt my surname wrong on the finance docs (which had been accepted by Ford) - stunned I then leaned that they had to reapply in my proper name (!)

Lets see what else happens on collection next week but Warrington seem a fast in fast out type of operation.

They have asked for a track day for me in lieu of the fact I have had the longest wait in the world of 15 months.

So how do you feel about it after 15 months?

I collect it next week, sun is shining in the UK so a good time for a convertible - we have a few road trips into wales me, mrs and 2 kids so will be fun. Its also nice to have my plate back on a car its been off on retention for 6 months and I feel a bit lost without it.
However I am dreading the collection, I know the sales guy will be nice but has fiestas to shift and is in a hurry etc - dreading it.

Nice, good timing then. You might be surprised, or you could go with 'mate you're obviously in a rush, give me the key, I'll sign the paperwork and let me get the fk out of this abortion of a handover laugh'

Here in Oz they just announced an up date for year end vehicles - now with Sync3 for the cars delivered Q4 2016.

Thinking this is the same as the UK?
Yes all orders from now are MY17 and include Sync 3, as well as the 3 new colours
Have spoken with my Ford dealer today (Hendy Ford Eastleigh), he has stated that MY17 cars are Sync 3. He is advising that MY17 cars will be available to order in May, so May 1st i will be sat in the showroom waiting for him to arrive.

Well I'm in Oz and we have RHD cars and they're going to be Sync 3 for MY17 models so would be clearcut UK cars will be the same.

Might be worth thinking about delaying your order, as cars registered after April 2017 will only be £140 a year to tax. You will have to pay an extra £2k up front, but I think cars with lower tax will command a healthy premium in the second hand market so you will get most, if not all, of that back when you sell.

That's why I haven't ordered yet anyway.

My car is further delayed, it arrived at Speke last weekend and on inspection has a damaged wheel, they need oermisdion to order a wheel and then the wheel has to arrive and then I've asked for a 4 wheel alignment.

If I don't get a track day out of this ...........

Not 100% sure i buy in to that £2000 / £360 annual saving would require 5.5 years to repay the initial price uplift? Plus any other price increases in the interim.

Yes, but when you come to sell the car on it will be worth a lot more so you will get most if not all of that extra £2k back.

If you were an accountant you'd look at the lifetime cost. Even if you sold after owning it for a year it's still got many years ahead of tax at £140 vs £500 which will mean it attracts a premium in the second hand market.

Every single year the new mustang is on the road it will save its owner £340. In theory at least, if a car has a 15 year life then it is worth £5,100 more (£340 x 15) than an identical car which costs £500 per year to tax. Every year the car is on the road the premium it should attract will drop by £340.

I've probably not explained it very well, but hopefully my theory makes some sense!

thats another reason i went back to LHD, as my tax is only £230 per year, so each year the cost of my car comes down £250
