For those worried about Sync 2, don't.

You'll play with it at first then forget about it.

I hardly touch mine now and do wonder why I wasted the £795 on the Sat Nav when Google on my phone is far superior.

No time for touch screens especially when you are driving the car how it should be driven.
I ain't bought the Mustang for it's tech bits so don't care. Someone mentioned about how hard it is to change the base from the steering wheel I don't care I just love to drive it and when you want her in sports or race mode you flick a switch

Sorry I don't buy the "all flaws or idiosyncrasies are forgiven" thing. It's a great car, superb value but it's not perfect and discussing it's imperfections (and talents) is part of the ownership / forum experience.
The (no) memory seats are my main gripe, the colour and bonnet view the nicest aspect.
The wheel to arch gap needs attention however - may take a road trip to Essex to get it done properly.

Lack of memory seats is a bit annoying but there is a simple solution to it; don't let anyone else drive it! biggrin Wrks for me.

Changing the springs is a doddle if you can be bothered to do it yourself.

What a lot of people are doing with the memory seats is, using one of the 3 for parking, have the mirrors facing down so can see the pavement, which does make sense

My 16 year old 5 Series not only has memory seats but also door mirror that tilt down when reversing.

16 fking years old and it does it and Ford couldn't spend bugger all doing it....

Yep, my Mondeo does that. At the end of the day it all costs, and those costs get passed on to the purchaser. Mustang was specced to a price, and I for one am grateful.

Well I've done a total of 95 miles in mine I'm embarrassed to say. Still very much getting used to her (or him, people in work already call 'him' the 'beast'). The amount of attention she gets is crazy and takes getting used to. I parked in tesco, a long way from people and still have people walking over and taking pictures. I'm used to fast cars and RWD but the size of this thing does take getting used to - the bonnet is immense and I find it hard to trust the rear camera. Clever though.

I'm looking forward to taking her for a proper run soon - I haven't even tried the various modes out yet. He/she is an amazing bit of machinery, stunning from pretty much every angle and I'm looking forward to getting to know 'it' better.

I will say I still haven't got a comfortable set up on the seats yet and the mirrors as others have said are terrible. The noise though. Mmmm the noise. Makes me want to live further away from the office.

I think the S550 is even wider than the S197 it is a wide beaastie, on the S197 with the roads round Essex was a bit of a nightmare, but she fits between the lines so all good.
I went from a Crossfire to the Mustang, and one of my early trips, went to see my uncle, was not used to the size and as i turned in caught his car. Not a good 1st experience, got better after that
done a few 3000 mile trips round Europe

Does it not have auto dipping door mirrors when you select reverse?

In fairness, they can be a pain. Nine times out of ten I used to override it as it's a pain in the arse when reversing normally.

I take your point but what would it have cost to provide - £100? A mirror motor and programmed seats not technology that already exists.

If the car was even £200 more no one would bat an eyelid and it'd be that bit improved.

Must admit I hated the tilt down mirrors on the BMW's I had, so that's a plus point not having them, memory seats makes no difference to me, can't believe they used a bonnet stay bar instead of gas struts, thought that died out last century :-)

I will be picking my baby up tomorrow, fingers crossed it all goes well and I will see what other features have gone missing:-)

Gas struts are not used because we have an active safety bonnet system and would stop the bonnet lifting in the case of an accident.

Yes and no^.

They don't get struts in the US either and they don't have our EU-mandated bonnets.

If you go on CJ Pony parts web site they do not recommend the gas strut kits for European speck cars.
If you fit them I am sure insurance companies would pick up on them and use it as a get out clause.

The point I was making is struts are not used on ANY S550, it's not specifically because of our bonnets.

Someone mentioned the dreaded swirl marks. I got around this by insisting that the dealer was not to even wash the car. They were a bit wobbly about handing over a "filthy car" but I did the job properly when I got home.
Now done about 1500 miles and it seems to go a bit better, still not THAT quick though. The modded rear exhaust does sound good though!
I will be pleased when Mountune do the remap of the power delivery....

That's lovely.

Aftermarket wheels. Quad tip exhaust - did it arrive like that?!
