Considering they are 50 years apart, I think it's a pretty faithful modern interpretation of the original fastback.

Same here, ordered on the 26th Jan so I guess they're just working through them. Spoke to the dealer on Saturday and they confirmed the order had definitely been sent off (had been a slight concern that they were delaying getting them in for some reason while the queue is getting ever longer!).

Ive been looking at a new or newer car since the beginning of the year and so far m3`s,c63`s,vxr8`s were top of the list until now....

The s550 looks awesome and after speaking with my local ford dealer im deliberating whether to bite the bullet and order one but while ive put by enough to pay outright has anyone found out about pcp/finance deals???

I guess most of you are just going to pay outright??

I think your guess is wildly wrong, if the Ford deal is no use there are many other financers available - however the residual should be high early on this will lower premiums overall. Paying cash for new cars only makes sense if you cant do anything better with it and most can.

Ive yet to find a better alternative to paying cash outright unless its a interest free deal...my money is earning nothing sitting in a bank! and i dont like paying interest to some finance company>>

I must admit that's broadly my view as well. The only better thing I think could be done with the money would be to use as a buy-to-let deposit, or similar. Compare finance interest with the return you could get from that... not much in it unless viewed over the long term.

ETA - admittedly that wasn't factoring in depreciation, vs bricks and mortar, but you still get depreciation if you take out finance, with the interest from the finance on top too...

So nearly got to see one in the flesh today. Was passing through Byfleet so stopped at Bill Shepherd's Mustang garage.

There was a dark coloured one in there but the windows had some sort of milky screen all over them and the shop was closed. I had to scrunch my face up against the glass like a curious school kid peering at the goodies at the sweet shop.

All I can say is that it has presence. biggrin

I plan to be 'passing through' Byfleet as soon as is feasible. Not just to perv an s550, but also have a look at all the other cars there.

(Obviously will mention I've already ordered one so I don't waste anyone's time though!)

Starting to think that the Orange I've ordered will be too showy. Starting to like the Green.

When I showed the girlfriend the Orange, she said I could never park it in front of her house otherwise she'd scratch it lol with how showy it is, it does look like a nice colour though and it's free smile.

You've certainly got to be able to deal with attention if you have orange. As long as you're cool with that, keep the order.

started to worry about my yellow order a while back but I figured you don't buy a 'stang to be subtle. my car will be my daily drive but I'm 6'1" and 19st if I was worried about standing out I'd never leave home.

who are you getting the car for? if the answer is you then screw anyone else's opinion (including mine).

Indeed, for starters I'm thinking about a revised cold air system and a Ford Performance/Borla Cat-Back exhaust ..... Awesome! wobble
