Has anyone had a build date confirmed yet who ordered post April 2016? Got an email from Karen 2 weeks ago saying i might get on the August build slots but she isn't replying to me now frown
I'm normally a patient person but the suspense is killing me smile
Placed my order 30th April, checked with the dealer early last week and no build date given yet. the wait is painful and there is around another 7-10 months to go yet...
Ordered the end of March email from Stacey this week they are allocating for August build and said I would get an August/September build date so April I would think would be September /October but you never know.

Mine was ordered on the 5th May (order sent to the factory on the 6th) and it's been pencilled in for a build during October so if that's anything to go by it's a 7 month build lead time plus the normal 12 weeks delivery

Ordered my Ruby Red V8 Fastback all extras but de chrome and black wheels 11.2.16 and it completed build 6.6.16 due at dealership 3.9.16 which is way earlier than I was expecting!! Apparently it's waiting at flat rock docks, I presume heading next for underseal

I'm trying to track the car via cotus.ford.com with my 17 digit vin number -WFOHXXCF3H5201044 but the site isn't recognising it. Has anyone else had problems using this site and can anyone tell me if my VIN looks correct, mainly the first 10 digits?

Has anyone ordered or have any decent pictures of the UK V8 fastback in ruby red with custom pack?

Ford went ahead and ordered it for me, believing I confirmed those options (which I didn't) and now want my deposit back if I'm to make any changes.

I'm pretty set on the colour, just not sure if I want the nickel alloys.

Struggling to find any good shots of that spec. Anyone have any?

What's the average mpg that people are getting in the V8s? I appreciate it's going to be on the low side, but I'm wondering if it would be ruinous to run one as a daily driver.
I don't have mine yet but having looked on Fuelly it ranges from 'hey that's not bad' if you're just enjoying the cruise, to 'ooh look, single digits!' If pressing on regularly.

I'm expecting 20mpg for me.
All depends how you drive i have had my ecoboost for 6 weeks now and i use it as a daily driver traveling just 2 miles to work and back and the odd trip out at weekend and im only getting 18mpg in the 2.3 so if you drove like me in the 5.0 you would be lucky to get 8 mpg thats why the 2.3 was the best choice for me would have loved the v8 but it just didn't add up for me

Covered 2500kms in 2 weeks on mine.

1/2 mway and A road commute where it'll touch 30mpg.

1/2 city work or B road blasting.

I drive it how I want to.... no nannying.

Current average is a genuine 20mpg. I reckon under the same conditions an EcoBoost would give about 25mpg.

For the sake of about 50-100eur per month in petrol costs, the GT is more than worth it.

I think the GT performs better than expected and the EB worse in the MPG stakes.
Driving normally on motorway i was getting 38 mpg and driving on normal roads i was getting 26 mpg but i live in the centre of Manchester where it takes 30mins to go 2 miles thats why im getting 18mpg so in a gt I would get about 8mpg

It's horses for courses obviously, but I think a lot of people can be suckered in by the economy stuff, like in a lot of modern cars. I'm not saying you have been, but I also don't think your 8mpg city estimates are very realistic either.

They had the gt and the ecoboost on top gear last night he was driving the gt on an open road in the hills of Scotland and was only getting 13mpg

13mpg was total BS
the bloke is am idiot
from cold the mileage starts off at 8.9 on mine, then as you drive her goes up to 24mpg around town, 28mpg on the motorway and stuck in traffic last Thursday for 30mins moving a few feet every few minutes dropped down to 17.8mpg

All im saying is that i drive ever like an idiot only changing gear when it hits between 6-7000 rpm and im getting 18mpg in the ecoboost and iv had a straight through exhaust and cold air intake fitted and a remap so its now 370 bhp but lighter than the gt and has 52% 42% weight distribution so handles really well if i drove like that in the gt I would probably get about 8-9 mpg everyone drives different but i dont see the point in having a gt and driving it like a family car to get the same mpg as if I absolutely hamer the ecoboost and have fun

That's good hopefully I might hear something on my build date soon I ordered end of April 26th. Karen emailed me a few weeks ago said she would tr and get me an August build slot but guess that didn't happen frown Tried emailing her twice now and no response.
Was it Karen or Stacey who confirmed your build date or the dealer?

Quite interested in the red stitching. What concerns me, is what the Italian chap said about the custom pack. Is it the same in the UK that if you order everything separately to avoid the chrome on the custom pack, that I will get sub standard leather and fake stitching on dash top ?

Well, just put a deposit on mine. Gone for a GT in lightning blue, all selectable options minus the custom pack. I have dithered about the colour for a couple of weeks and to be honest I like most of them. I like grabber blue but I was informed by the brunette general that it was not a selectable option wink.

I guess now just the long wait.

Got to love people who talk the talk. I bet you don't say this in front of your other half wink.

In the interest of drawing this part to a close, I ask her opinion as I value it. Not because I am not permitted to but because in a grown up relationship, both opinions matter.

She did not get a say in the last car I bought, in anyway. I sold the AMG and bought the Cayman S without her knowing. There was no issue and no whinging but with this car I asked her opinion.
