Hi,

Now that's a difficult one smile, the next 4 vessels leaving Baltimore are on the 20th, 28th, 31st October and then the 10th November and so if it gets on one of those then I would hope to receive delivery during December. I have asked the dealer not to touch mine and so am getting it "dirty" and have a detailer lined up for a new car detail with quartz ceramic protection and then its down to Moderstang for underspray and a couple of bits and bobs so December could be an expensive month lol

I know some cars have been delayed at the docks for some reason and so it would not surprise me if it ran into January

Hi
It would appear that my car is now ready for shipment too , although the vin isn't yet recognised on the shipping companies site. Looks like I will be getting it a lot earlier than I thought.
Moderstang for me too for a wallet caning excersise .
Out of interest, what area are you from ? I am in Herts and also looking for a good detailer.
Mark
Hi,

Mine isn't showing on the shipping site either and I am led to believe that it can take a while to show on their system. According to Cotus it's been "in transit" since the 10th October so god only knows why things are taking so long but all good things come to those who wait. It's supposed to be approximately a 12 week turnaround from build date to dealer but some come through sooner than others so it's just luck of the draw as to whether it gets a quick passage or not

I'm near Wolverhampton, West Mids and so a bit far from you. I did look for one for a while but got one from list of Gyeon certified companies in my area and have visited his workshop to look at his work so i know what he is capable of. The company i've chosen is called Reflections detailing and the whole process is costing in the region of £700 but it certainly looks worth it especially as my car is shadow black so it'll show up any imperfections.

As the saying goes goes , a watched Mustang never arrives.
Could be the best ever Christmas present. I'll do a search for Gyeon certifieds in my area.
Thanks

The shipping site will only show the cars from approx 1 week before they are due on a boat.

Mine took approx 4 weeks to get from the factory to the port.
America must have a worse rail system than the UK!! biggrin

Willsit, I am sure you are correct but when driving an S550 it felt a lot smaller than the Camaro. That means the Gen 6 Camaro is actually smaller than the S550. Hmm.
Agreed; the smaller windows and "squarer" feel to the Camaro makes it feel larger. The new 6th is a smidge smaller - but I doubt it feels it (I've only sat in a couple, not driven yet)

Just picked my GT up:

New Mustang by Dan Willis, on Flickr

Quite the car; I've never purchased anything like this, or at the money, so it's quite special to me. A lovely new/old school feel - bit and heavy, lots of noise and grunt but remarkably well behaved and full of toys and things I'd not really expect (like air conditioned seats, DAB etc). I'm very much enjoying just looking at it at the moment smile

I went on one of those Super Car drives yesterday. Loved the 1968 GT500 with no power steering or servo brakes.

Drove a Gallordo and a DB9 and thought meh! I can't wait to get back into my S550 for the drive back. Thought the interiors of the Aston and Lambo sucked too

Mine too, they may be travelling together. Very exciting
Did they happen to mention how long until they reach the UK

It took 3 weeks from production line to docks for mine and it still isn't showing on the shipping agent website (2wglobal.com). I'm thinking a January delivery is most likely

I'm trying not to pay attention to much, I had agreed with the dealer to have it registered on the April 1st for the new tax

Its an approx. a 10 day sail from the US to Zeebrugge then approx. 1 week before a 4 hour crossing to Southampton and then it's just how quick they organise a transporter to the dealership.

Just checked the shipping site (for the 100th time) and mine still isn't booked into the system frown

Nor mine, have become obsessed with tracking it. My original delivery date was April on a 17 plate, have to say I don't care anymore. JUST WANT IT.

My GT rolled off the line on the 25th and is on it's way to the docks at Baltimore. Dealer did say Christmas Eve for delivery, but that was pre idling the Flat Rock plant for a week. Suspect it'll be into the New Year. According to the sheet we have over on 6g, best case is 54 days from build -> delivery, and worse is 80something. That's been six months now for me, so I guess the odd week here or there doesn't matter too much. Would be lovely to get it this year.

Mine arrived in Southampton the week before Christmas. My sales lady hoped to get it to me by Christmas Eve but Ford went on holiday for the whole festive period.

No such thing for us freelancers.

I finally got it the second week of January. Just shy of a year after putting my deposit down.

Worth the wait tho biggrin

Ordered mid June, phoned for an update today and told it's going to be built early December.

Trying to weigh up the cost/benefit of waiting til April.

£2000 vs £1120 first year tax but only £140/year vs £515. If I keep it for 2 years current system = £1635 vs £2140, 3 years = £2150 vs £2280 and potentially easier to sell vs one registered a month earlier?

Tax had me wondering as well, but my car ended up being early, so it was a no brainer. I may keep mine 3 years - so then tax works out pricey, but it's tax - and the car is there to be enjoyed.

I doubt I'll have the car more than 2 years so I'll probably just take delivery asap and enjoy it like you say

I think the tax will make quite a big difference to the resale value. A car with £140 per year tax vs £500 a year tax will attract quite a chunky premium.

That's part of my thinking, I'm not going to be able to use it in February /March much of I did take it early so not worth it for me, I'll see how that changes if it turns up before Christmas!
