I guess the V6 would have been too high on tax and fuel and no-one would buy over a V8. Also, it doesn't sound much better than the 4 cylinder from what I've heard. Not sure why as even a 2.3 Cortina/Taunus V6 had a close to V8 rumble! (Check them out on youtube)
Funnily enough I've been looking at exhaust offerings for the Ecoboost. Most are American and sound too much like a Corsa with a can. The best I've heard is either Agency Power or Scorpion. The Scorpion is available in the UK so may consider after a while of running it standard.

Actually we ran the V6 and the ecoboost as rental cars in the states over a few days of comparable driving each and there was nothing in it both 30 ish mpg. The official tests in Europe would probably tell you the ecoboost is better but as we all know slap a decent sized turbo on a petrol car and the real world economy is nothing like the claimed.

I can't remember what ford at Eastleigh had on theirs I'll ask next time I speak to them but it wasn't standard and it sounded good to me.

Anyone have any up to date info on timescale from Zeebrugge to collection date? Mine is due into Zeebrugge on the 11th January, will be collecting from Eastleigh just outside Southampton so not far to go this end.

I think in the UK it can be as little as 2-3 weeks from Zeebrugge to dealer, its reduced massively over the last 6 months.

Once in the UK you need to be hammering your dealer for prioritised transport. They can make things happen (if they want to).
Thanks!

I'm out of the country from 12th Jan
- 6th Feb and the new 17 registration is out on 1st march so I'm kinda hoping they drag their heels a little bit!

If you want to wait I think most of the dealers are allowing it, quite a few at dealers already waiting for April 1st.

I'm not that fussed really just thinking if it's going to be mid Feb may as well wait, buys me a couple of weeks to sell my current car as well. I'm certainly not waiting until April as I won't be keeping the car more than 2 years in all likelihood so it's cheaper for me to opt for old tax regime

The dealership did say it was the quickest turnaround that they had heard of but it does put into question just what does happen in Zeebrugge? I know the so called under spray isn't up to much and so mine is off to Modurstang soon to get the job done properly but I was just happy to see the vehicle so quickly.

It's exactly 7 miles from the Wallenius Wilhelmsen terminal at Southampton to my dealership so that shouldn't take too long! Have heard a wide range of timescales for Zee to Soton though.

Yes mate, I was warned it could be anything from 1 to 6 weeks so I'm presuming it just depends how many cars are on the vessel as it's not just cars that are bought over and I guess they have to work out weights/floor space etc so that the vessels are safe.

I know mine caught me out as I just rang the dealer on the off chance and for an update only to be told "hang on a second, I think I've seen the keys!" but there doesn't seem to be any standard timescale involved.

Mine is same as yours (black on black on black) and arrives around March - what's the quality of paint and shine like?

Hi,

Overall I love it but I would suggest a visit to a detailer for a proper detail and ceramic paint protection.

You can certainly tell the difference once its been properly treated and although it's a little expensive and takes about a week, it is well worth it and to be fair to the dealership, they cannot spend a week preparing every car that they sell and so it is unfair to compare a detailed car to one prepared by the dealer

Good to know and a fair comment.

Am looking at GTechniq Crystal Serum to make it really pop - being black it'll look sensational properly clean

I went for the Gyeon quartz treatment and it certainly does make the car stand out and so was well worth the money

Pretty tempted with a Magnetic with Saddle, and think it would look really good with the Velgen VMB8 in Gunmetal. So:

1. anyone got a pic of any combo of the above?
2. do dealers offer the Velgens as an official wheel? (dealer-supplied). I know the one in Maidstone does, but I also don't know how much (many ££???), as not phoned them yet.
3. what's the latest lead time?
4. any chance of discounts yet, or is that still unlikely? (given I assume the answer to "3" is a few months still!).

Thanks for any help. Cheers.
