Evening all, another newbie to the forum here. I placed my order with the dealer the other day, race red V8 manual with all the options apart from the wheels.

First thing I plan to do when the car is delivered is get the stock exhaust replaced. Currently I am liking the Ford Racing by Borla, from the many YouTube clips available. Does anyone know whether this will be available in the UK, or will I need to import it myself from the States ?

Thanks

Won't it invalidate the warranty? Surely ford have an official performance exhaust ?

It's a bit of a grey area but my understanding is that they couldn't void the warranty unless there was evidence that any problem was directly caused by the aftermarket product. Also the Ford Racing exhaust just bolts onto the stock pipes without any cutting required, so the stock exhaust can be put straight back on if needed.

There still does not seem to be much more info on UK / Euro spec cars. There has been suggestions that the Performance Package for the UK might not actually be the full U.S. one and might be missing a few things like the extra dash gauges.

Guess these could be the Custom Pack wheels ?

Starting to think that the Orange I've ordered will be too showy. Starting to like the Green.
The S550 at Silverstone last summer was orange, and I didn't think it too 'showy'. Certainly not as in yer face as the pearlescent orange on Focus ST's, which is what I would prefer on the S550

I do like bright colours on sporty and expensive cars and I like the fact that an Orange or Lime Green 911/Lambo looks like a toy.

Kind of depends where I drive the car but knowing how the scrotes love keying and damaging nice vehicles I am starting to think sensibly about the colour and that Guards looks pretty classic.

Ordered! A quick decision on the way into work, changed direction, stopped at the Ford garage and placed my order. 5.0 V8 GT, Fastback, Guard (Metallic), Ceramic Leather + Custom Pack. It is mixed emotions though. Now I have to sell my TVR Chimaera to help fund the purchase. I'm going to miss my TVR so much, it has been awesome to own! I hope the Mustang can bring back the smiles!

Welcome to the club! Did they mention when you should expect your car? My brother had a Chimaera so I have driven one a few times. Yes you will miss the character but you are replacing it with a very modern V8. I'm sure you will be very happy with it and at these prices can't really go wrong. I assume you placed your order at a Ford Store?

Cheers

They gave me a receipt for deposit (£1,000) and a 'New Vehicle Order Form' which states the car, colour, trim etc. Al price details broken down and signed by the dealer and by me. I asked about next steps. He said they have a good allocation of cars and have not sold all of their allocation for 2015 yet, although there have been lots of orders. He said I should expect my car in 2015, planning for Q4. Finance options will be available and will be shared in the summer. All seemed ok to me. I will be updated as more news arrives.

Saw the below article earlier. Ford are updating the Sync to version 3 for the 2016 model year Mustang, looks a big step forward from V2.... I guess all of ours will just miss this update and still have V2, assuming ours are manufactured August/ Sept for Q4 delivery.... If there are delays though we might get it.

Either way, I want to go to sleep tonight and wake up in Quarter 4 please... smile

It would be nice if we do, but I'm not going to be too upset about it - otherwise I'd be constantly delaying for each new MY car to come up (update'itis biggrin).

It'd be nice if the RHD cars were the first MY16 cars off the line - another post on Mustang6G (IIRC) mentioned that the new MY normally begins in Sept of the preceding year...

We may be lucky!

Are you with Trust ?

The Trust chap called on friday, he said they would be firming up in April and ordering in May first come first served and i need to pay a deposit by the end of April to secure one of their first UK allocation in early 2016. I said about emails and he said they could get me an email but they - NW Trust haven't been sending them or requesting them.

Im comfy in that i prefer one in march / april as its a rag top 3rd car for high days and holidays.

No, Gowrings Basingstoke. They also have Ford dealerships in Newbury and Reading (the Reading branch being a Ford Store).

I phoned my salesman a few days after guys here were reporting email confirmations and he said he'd passed my order to Reading and they had passed it to Ford. He double-checked that and called me within the hour to confirm.

About a week later I got an email from him with that same info. I'm hoping that was just a group email sent to all their Mustang customers, but the lack of an email from Ford at this point is starting to make me nervous.

I've never ordered anything a year in advance, nor been so impatient for it, so if my car is delayed because I chose the wrong dealer group, I am going to be VERRRRRRY unimpressed. frown

ETA: paid my deposit 25/01/2015

I chose Trust because they are big and I assumed had a bigger allocation

TBH I didn't think it would make much difference. I assumed, naively it would appear now, that my order would be fulfilled regardless of which dealer I paid my deposit to, and purely on the basis of WHEN I PAID; not when my dealer decided to forward the orders to Ford.

I could be worrying about nothing but like I said, the lack of ANY contact whatsoever from either Ford or my dealer is making me a little nervous.

Ah, you're ahead of me in the queue then... I ordered mine from the same place the day afterwards! Similarly nothing back from Ford yet, but the same reassurance that things had been passed to Ford...

Are they being made and delivered anywhere yet? I only ask because I saw one on the road in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
