Ok, bored of waiting now. Hurry up car.
It has been two days since I place my order.

Yep, the max I've waited for a new car is 3 months, so this is going to be a bit of a slog... I imagine it'll speed up as we get closer, and in the summer when things start happening around order allocations, RHD builds starting up, boats getting loaded up, dealers clearing space, and the Champions League winners cars start knocking about - the wait will only get worse!

Not sure which is harder; the wait itself or trying to keep it a surprise!
This quote is from the Telegraph
"Ford wants to sell more than 1,500 in the UK and 10,000 Mustangs in Europe as a whole; modest targets."
Thats not a lot so if they gear up for so few we may be waiting a while.

Reading the Telegraph's take on the mustang. These reviews always have the same ring to them when comparing a beemer or audi to an 'american car' !! its always the bloody same. They just seem to miss the point to be honest. What you and I are buying here with the Mustang ( and i do own and drive a BMW ) is individuality and something with attitude. `I've owned a few american muscle cars and modern cars, but the likes of The BMW just seem soulless to me, every other car you see is a BM or an Audi and i just want something more personal.
So Yes im sure the Germans have it when you talk build quality etc but WHEN they get a handle on styling again i might consider another one. In the short term until my Mustang arrives in a year i'l thrash the balls out of the little Bm and then gladly sell it on !
Just my take on things !! nothing personal !! roll on delivery date, now where's the parts number for that roush supercharger !!!!!!!!!!

LOL at that Telegraph article !
Check out 'THE RIVALS' to the £33k 420bhp Mustang .... a £42k 242bhp Diesel Audi ( seriously ? ), BMW M235i ( realistically at £40k with options ) and the Nissan 370Z - which is a 2 seater with virtually no boot or luggage space.
Liked this from the comments section ; " The car corners at almost one G and dismantles the M3 around Laguna Seca no problem... Try to drop the British arrogance for a moment and be objective for a change "

There is going to be nothing to touch the Mustang at the price (which means nothing to touch it full stop), we all know that. Just do us a favour Ford and give us the option of Recaros. All newspaper car reviews are just a catalogue of cliches. It's what they think their readers want to see.
Got bored the other day so looked at the Ford configurators of our European neighbours.
Seems very odd that Ford are offering different options to each country of the EU. Surely that must be a big headache for them?
Why offer Recaros to everyone else but not to the UK? Why is Comp Orange free in the UK but a €700 option in Holland, yet the Dutch get black for free but here in the UK we pay £595. Differing colour prices for Germany next door to Holland.
Would love to hear someone at Ford explain the thinking behind all this along with why the white lights?
A real shocker, but it's down to the Dutch CO2 laws, is that their V8 with no options is £77,000, yes pounds not euros. Also the if you want an auto ecoboost it's £16,000 more than the manual version
Germany, just over the border, has the V8 priced at a bargain £29,000.

Absolutely agree with all of that - and it's the same with anything from Japan - the average motoring journalist appears to have a well-worn stock of hackneyed phrases to apply, depending on where the car comes from, and doesn't even bother to try and be objective about it. In terms of price, as one example, to find another V8 sports car with a sub 5-second 0-60 you're usually in the 60K+ range.

I would imagine they're expecting orange to be a popular colour in Holland hence the surcharge.Seems very odd that Ford are offering different options to each country of the EU. Surely that must be a big headache for them?

Regarding the Recaros; I hope by the time they start making the UK allocation they'll be available. The only reason I can think of that that might not turn out to be the case is something to do with the differences between the LHD & RHD models which is why all the LHD countries get them and we don't.
still haven't had an email...
