I'm doing the same. Constantly checking for new information. I've signed on with the Mustang Club of Great Britain and Mustang6G forums. Mustang6G is interesting as there are US owners who have the cars already and lots of discussion with European owners who are wondering what they have ordered.

There was a post yesterday of video of a Euro spec GT which had no hood scoops, no dash dials but did have the bigger Brembo brakes of the PP, different lower grill and ecoboost wheels, bigger wing mirrors, oh and those horrible white lights at the rear. There is also talk of the tri bar leds at the front not being activated for Euro models.

Ford must know by now what they will be offering us. I feel a bit miffed as I ordered a US 2015 Mustang with the RHD and expected what I saw in the original brochure. The Ford US boss did say something along the lines of that they were selling the US Mustang to the world but now it would appear that different countries will get different models.

Same happened with Chevrolet when they released the monstrosity that was the Euro-spec Camaros i.e. ugly dumbo mirrors and ugly tail lights.

Surely that means we're getting the 2016 Mustang with SYNC3 with the switch over from 2015-2016 Model Year being done in July?
I would think that would make sense ? If the cars are not being made until Nov/Dec of this year they 'should' all be 2016 cars ? Model year change around July/August .

I wonder if our dealers will have any new colour options in the 2016 line up ?

Isn't this all frustrating guys ? so many questions and so few answers ( bet were all feeling the same ? )

I agree to the later model spec and we may even see some goodies unexpected! however we have a good year to wait and a lot of things will change - the new Labour - Green party coalition may ban engines over 1500cc :0)

Agreed, speculation indicates that for the UK so many little things will be missing or altered. Sadly when viewed overall it seems to take a lot away from the car IMO. At the moment it looks like much of the U.S. Performance Pack won't actually be there to the point where you can't say that the UK cars are including it - things like the strut brace and extra gauges alone are neat touches that should be there. Not to mention the lack of hood vents and the lighting issues. Why does it need to messed around with so much ? Surely everyone just wants the same U.S. car and options availability but with a proper RHD set up ?

Couldn't agree more - other than changes made to comply with EU regs, why is it being messed about with so much? It's not the fact that the 'missing' parts are that much of a big deal taken in isolation, but as part of the overall package these are the details that add that certain something to the whole experience and made the prospect of owning a 2015 Mustang so appealing in the first place. Can't believe the strut brace and extra gauges are missing - to add to the ever lengthening list of other items that it seems we're not going to get. No ACC. No memory seats. Possibly no rear camera or LED's and a very limited options list .... not to mention that fact that we're paying about $10,000 more than the top spec car in the US.

Well it makes it easier for me, I'll wait and see what the spec is now before considering one of these any further and believe me I was very close to pulling he trigger on one.
There must be someone at Ford UK that has a say in what is the standard spec plus options are for the UK car, Shirley it's then only a matter of what they bolt on as it runs down the production line, not rocket science is it? Can the poster that has already had a email conversation with them do a follow up email and seek clarification please.

Where are you guys getting this information from? Is any of it actually confirmed by FORD themselves yet or is it just a bunch of rumour and conjecture at this point?

Its common knowledge that in May the dealers order the cars to spec from Ford and thats when its actually "an order" the full spec and options will be available by then I am sure - 10 months before anyone sees a car (apart from the ultra early buyers)

It's off the internet so it must be true........ I heard that the highest spec cars will have 13" steel wheels, drum brakes, velour seats, and an 8 track player...smile

And the 5.0 is going to be detuned to 150 bhpbiggrin

Exactly.

So now it appears we're not getting the memory seats OR the Recaros....

Until I hear FORD confirm the specs anything else has to be taken as unconfirmed.

Still not had an email.

No I haven't either, order was placed on Feb 2nd.......although I have had a call from the sales chap at the dealership, saying he'd had notification from ford UK that my order was confirmed, I was on the list, and I'd hear more in due course....

Regarding spec......as I see it, the Mustang is going to be a flagship, I can't see Ford skimping to much on equipment...smile

Well thats it then ! all this talk of what were getting and not getting ????

Will see whats cooking come May, leaves me with two choices , Either bite the bullet and commit, then when it arrives next year sell it ( probably at a small profit ? ) or tell Ford to stick my grand up there chuffer and go and buy that Pro touring 69 camaro i was hankering after, after all !!!!!

what a quandary !!!!!

Hi there

Ford confirmed to me the following:
Recaro's will NOT be an option for UK / RHD models.
The car will have a reverse camera.
The car does not have torsion LSD or 3.73 gears, but regular LSD and 3.55 which is probably better anyway.

I did not ask about other things, but stuff like deletion of bonnet vents, strut brance and gauges if true is a real shame, the clear rear lights are a must for our law I believe, easy to fix just fit some US rear lights when you get the car. wink

Nt doubting you but what law requires clear rear lights? confused Most cars on the road today have coloured lenses.

As for fitting the US spec lenses, I'm sure I've seen a price of around $600 PER SIDE for those so there's no way I'll be fitting those. It'll be cheaper to get them tinted and get a local auto-electrician to sort the wiring.

They've decided it's easier to use clear lenses to get the amber turn signals we need.

The lack of bonnet vents and strut brace will be due to pedestrian safety.

Ah, that would make sense.

Has that been confirmed by FORD though or just someone that knows someone...?

I'm hoping it arrives as a 65 plate, with the 50 year anniversary and all 65 would be a good plate wouldn't it? Although I suppose we are all acting/feeling like 16 year olds so I guess 16 also works. MU65 ANG maybe...

I'm guessing any cars which are spotted now will be testing various options so I wouldn't read too much into it, you'll drive yourself mad. So long as there is a 5.0 v8 under the hood I'll be happy.
