I've been to Bill Shepherd's a few times to try to glimpse the US version in their showroom. They have been closed both times but I get the feeling that it's a case of booking an appointment.

Can't see them being happy for me to have a good look and feel when I have already ordered a UK one.

I'm heading to the USA next week... I have found a dealer and will take a closer look. Let me know if anyone has any specific requests - I'll try sitting in the back!
Finally sat in one today and in the back. See my other post in Mustangs smile

Here's the video of the supposed EU Mustang. It's a GT with the bigger Brembo brakes yet is wearing Ecoboost wheels. No dials in the centre of the dash. The guy did speak to someone on the stand that did say that the show cars are just cobbled together from what ever bits are to hand biggrin

Finally had the "you're on the list" confirmation email from Ford clap (deposit was placed on 26th Jan)
Was that the one with a pic of a CO Mustang, welcoming you to the family?

I'm wavering now and thinking of just waiting until they are sitting around the showrooms for a while. Then I might pick one up with a few percent off biggrin

Here I am biggrin

If Bill Shepherd wasn't expecting a ten grand premium for their GTs, I and I am sure others would be happy to have LHD.

Bit of a gamble isn't it, as I have thought the same but then as it seems such a bargain price, what if they put it up for anyone that hasn't placed a deposit?

The price has gone up folks.

£5 for the Ecoboost and a tenner for the V8.

Looks like the VED went up the same amounts as of April 1st.

Do the US models have side repeaters in the door mirrors?

With some of you getting some snippets from your dealers, I was prompted to ring mine today.

The sales woman called me back to say that so far there was still no info to which I just said that I understood that it would be Spring 2016 before I would see the car.

She was adamant that I would get it in November this year as I was early in handing over my deposit. The thing is I didn't order until 2 days after the prices were announced.

Considering she said she had no info, how can she be sure?

To be honest I'd prefer a Spring 2016 delivery as it will give me more time to explain to the ex-wife why I went out and bought a new gas guzzling car when I'm always claiming poverty biggrin

I love that. Is it UK legal?

Has anyone found an insurance company that knows what the UK S550 is yet?

Insuring a car that has no previous stats in this country is going to be interesting.

Best quote as a Londoner with the car parked in an open car park, when I almost bought a 2011 Mustang last year, was £1300 TPFT. Lots wouldn't quote and I did ring every suggested company, loads of them.

That was as a second car, clean licence and 20 years odd of NCB. I'm in my 50s.

Gonna be a real pisser if the car is virtually impossible to insure. Would be good to know in advance as I want it so much that I might move out of London just to get insurance biggrin

Good find. I watched all 6 of those introducing the Euro Mustang videos. Do we think that this is actually what we'll get?

If it is, the video confirms that the GT does not come with the central dash gauges, the front tri bars come on with the headlights, the rear lights are indeed white, we get the faux petrol cap on the rear and the lower grille doesn't match the main grille.

That ACC looks impressive (until it goes wrong) but can you get it on a manual car? What happens when it gets to a hill and needs a lower gear?

Funny to think that we are days away from the order books officially opening yet nobody knows what we are getting. The Ford UK site looks very amateurish.

Thought it might be updated by now.

I still want the car but I feel a bit miffed that I read all the blurb including stuff about the iconic front tri marks being replicated by lights as well as talk of the also iconic rear red tri-bar lights. So it was for the car and these styling cues that I placed my deposit down.

I'm buying a Mustang. I'm buying a kicking, screaming, roaring beast that sticks two fingers up to pretty Porsches, carbon footprints and 1 ltr toy cars. It makes no sense for the UK with our tax and petrol costs, but maybe that is the whole point. Caveman motoring at its best!
I completely agree biggrin

I was renewing the insurance on my car with Admiral and I asked if they had the new Mustang in their database and could they give me a ballpark figure.

They could only quote on the 2.3 as the 5.0 is not in their computer. I wonder if the cheaper companies just won't insure the bigger engined car.
